We last read Chapter 14, where Coldsnap and Geode tried to meet with Firebird and Keena in the new capital city of Skycrest after having emerged from their respective missions victorious. However, upon arrival, all four of them were instantly captured and imprisoned by Commander Windsor Galeforce and the forces of the Storm Sect, who eventually learn that Frost King Alpin, Morton Flamestar, and Hydraxus are all dead, having been succeeded by Coldsnap, Firebird, and Keena, respectively. After a rather heated argument between Coldsnap and Galeforce—which Firebird, Keena, and Geode were little more than spectators to—Coldsnap reluctantly agrees to accompany Galeforce on a walk around Skycrest, hoping to get some answers as to what's going on. This time, we catch up with the President in the aftermath of his attempted assassination and listen as his advisor, Wallace Weiss, presents him with the possible choices from here.....as well as learn about how Firebird, Keena, and Geode plan on getting out of Galeforce's imprisonment.....

-Royal London Hospital, London, England-
That night, after the President of the United States had officially gotten out of surgery and was safely transported to his inpatient room—to ensure that medical staff could continue to mentor him—his advisor, Wallace Weiss, immediately went to meet with him despite the late hour. Accompanying him were two bouncers who guarded the door, as well as two other suited agents who followed him to the President's bed.
"How are you feeling, Mr. President?" Weiss asked gently.
"Helpless. Hopeless. Lost," the President admitted. "Everything's going great, and then the terrorist attacks just suddenly spike out of nowhere."
"If I may, sir.....there may be a way you can fix that."
Weiss took out an electronic tablet and began projecting photo evidence of both the failed Hoover Dam attack and the attempted murder of the President. Of particular note were two pictures; one depicting the recovered Storm Sect mage bodies that Geode had dealt with, and another showing a second group of deceased Storm Sect mages; specifically, the collective enemy casualties of the President's failed assassination that Coldsnap had caused.
Upon seeing them, the President sat up in his bed. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.....hold on."
"Yes, Mr. President?"
"Go back to the one showing the Hoover Dam suspects."
Weiss did as he was told.
"Okay," the President directed. "Now, zoom in on that patch on their sleeves. I thought I saw something."
Weiss blew up the photo a little and focused on the sleeve of one of the suspects until the patch was clearly in view. Much to the horror of everyone in the hospital room, it was a crystal-clear depiction of the Russian flag.
"The Russians....." one agent from Weiss's entourage muttered. "It.....it can't be....."
Weiss's eyes widened and he covered his mouth in shock.
"Mr. President, I have already attempted to correlate this evidence with Russian president Vladimir Putin, and he has strenuously denied any involvement in this attack," the second agent with Weiss defended. But Weiss wasn't having any of it.
"He 'strenuously denied' it? Oh, I guess that means we're in the clear, then," Weiss commented sarcastically. "'Cause we all know we can absolutely trust whatever he says." He then turned back to the President. "Sir, I think it's very clear that the Russians are beginning to take steps to wipe us out. They already tried to hit the West Coast.....who knows when they'll try again? Sure, they were stopped here......but I strongly encourage you to be proactive going forward, not reactive. Matter of fact....."
