We last read Chapter 21, where the President and Wallace Weiss—having been revealed to be an impostor named W.H.R.R.L. who is aligned with the Storm Sect—discuss the United States's possible reactions to the recent terrorist attacks orchestrated by the storm mages.....who are disguising themselves as foreign terrorists. Ultimately, the President orders a nuclear strike to be fired on Russia in a week's time, which would certainly kickstart a third World War and lead to countless casualties in the process.....exactly what Commander Windsor Galeforce, Typhoon, W.H.R.R.L., and the rest of the Storm Sect want. Meanwhile, Coldsnap, Firebird, Keena, and Geode officially reveal the Storm Sect's involvement in the Grand Terminus flood to the rest of the Mage Aspects, and begin formulating a plan to bring down the chaotic fifth faction once and for all. To add to their numbers, though, Coldsnap decides to pay a visit to Earth and recruit her adopted family and friends; the same ones who looked after her two years ago, when Alpin first exiled her to the planet. This time, we continue following Coldsnap as she seeks out the people who raised her and accepted her for a while—even acting as her "second family", so to speak—and see if she can't convince them to join her at her side once again. But first, she may have to take a slight detour.....

When Coldsnap leapt through the Grand Terminus portal leading to Earth—having redirected it to go to Jacksonville, Florida, she was initially in free-fall, plummeting to the planet's surface at a high speed. However, she wasn't worried.
Plugging her right hand into her mouth, she whistled and called her faithful ice dragon to her side, at which point it expertly picked her up and allowed her to guide it to her adoptive family's house.
Back when Frost King Alpin had first exiled Coldsnap to Earth in 2018, he had placed her in the care of a family who lived in Jacksonville, Florida. Her "father" was a man named Mike, she had an "older sister" named Alexis, and even a pet cat to keep her company named Ali. In addition, she managed to find a circle of friends as well, all of whom were aware of her secret status as an ice mage: the reasonable, level-headed Rosie, the hyperactive Alexa, the laid-back Kat, and the introverted Michael.
Despite Coldsnap having hailed from the Elemental Realms, her friends and family from Earth were quick to take her in and love her as her own, getting her used to a lot of Earth's customs such as gaming, streaming, and music. Though she had mostly returned to her duties as the Ice Sect Leader following Alpin's defeat and death, she still made sure to visit all of them from time to time whenever she was free.
And, of course, she knew exactly where her adoptive family's house was located, having dedicated it to her long-term memory. After all, if they hadn't given her as much love and accommodation as they did, she didn't know if she would've turned out the same.
"Ahhh.....I can't wait to see everyone again!" Coldsnap said to herself. Or at least.....she thought she was by herself.
"Me neither!" Keena suddenly said in a cheerful tone from right behind her, having hitched an unexpected ride on the dragon's back alongside Coldsnap.
"Yeah! We're gonna.....wait, what?!"
The ice dragon ground itself to a screeching halt as Coldsnap did a double-take at Keena's abrupt presence.
"What.....how.....huh?! How are you here?!"
Keena shrugged. "I was going to prepare the rest of the Water Sect mages, got bored, told one of my attendants to do it instead, and here I am!"
