"I'm telling you, Mi. This man is amazing!" I tell my best friend about Hero. "I felt so good around him. And I felt that he wants something serious." I smile.

"And you are able to give him this? You know your father..."

"I know. And I really want to start something with Hero."

"At least, he's from a good family?"

"He is a Fiennes. I'm sure dad won't have a problem."

"What? Are you dating Hero Fiennes? The most wanted bachelor?"

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"

"I don't know... But I heard he is like his brother, he sleps with a lot of woman."

"I don't think he's like this."

"Look on he internet. He's in the center of attention, Jo. I can see you like him, but I don't want you to end heartbroken. And I'm sure your father won't be happy with this."

"I will be careful, Mi. But listen to me... I feel like Hero is going to make me happy."

"He called since your date?" What is she doing? If she thinks she can make me forget about Hero, she's wrong.

"No, he didn't."

"So, you should move on. Maybe it was fun, but as I know your dad, he has a husband for you."

"No. If you don't like this, you should leave." It's hard for me to say his because Mia is my best friend and I thought she's going to support me in everything. But it looks like I was so wrong.

"You choose a man over me?"

"I thought you were going to support me no matter what."

"And I do, I support you. But when it comes to this... I can't." She gets up.

"Okay." I say, but it hurts. Best friends are supporting each other no matter what. Is this a sign that Mia wasn't a good best friend?

I watch her leaving the coffee shop. I hope this won't take for too long and she's going to see she did a mistake. I think I should leave too. I take one last sip from my coffee and I walk out the coffee shop. While I walk to my car, I hear my phone ringing and I wish it's Mia. But now. It's an unknown number.

Phone call

"Hello?"

"Josephine?" I hear his voice and I feel my heart beating faster. I didn't expect him to call me. But here he is.

"Hi, Hero."

"I'm sorry I didn't call. But I was really busy."

"It's alright."

"I didn't forget about what I told you. Are you available tomorrow morning to have an interview?"

"Interview?" At first I'm confused, but then I remeber. "Oh. Yes. Of course. At what time and where?"

"Will wants you to be there at 10am. I'll send you a text with the address."

"Okay. Thank you."

"No problem. Are you fine?"

"Yeah." I can't tell him that I had a fight with my friend because of him. "When I will see you again, Hero?"

"I don't know." He sighs. "I don't think I can be there tomorrow. I have a lot of work to do. But... In the weekend, I will try and make time for you."

"Okay." I smile. "I'll update you tomorrow about what happened."

"Good luck, but I'm sure you don't need it."

"Thank you."

"I'll see you soon, blondie."

And with that, he ends the call. With this man, I feel things and I don't know if it's good or bad. But I'm excited to see him. He's making me forget about the world around me.

On my way home, I decided to tell my parents that I'm having an interview tomorrow and if I take the job, I'm going to work. And I won't care what they say. I don't want to work from home. I want to do what I like and they are not going to stop me.

I arrive home in time for lunch. I'm glad mom and dad are alone and I can talk with them without Jake's mean comments.

Elizabeth: "Josephine, hello."

Jo: "Hi, mum, dad. Can I talk with you after lunch?"

Louis: "Of course!"

Jo: "What did you cook, mum?"

Elizabeth: "Some pastas with shrimps and garlic."

We go to the small table in the kitchen and we start to eat. It's like we're a simple family, having lunch together. I wish we were a simple family and we weren't a part of mafia. My life could be easier.

Louis: "So, darling... What did you want to talk with us?"

Jo: "Tomorrow, I'm going to an interview. I found a job and I would like to work."

Louis: "You know you don't have to work."

Elizabeth: "You're free darling, why would you want to work?"

Jo: "Because I'm planning to do everything on my own. I'm 25 and I think I lived enough with you."

Elizabeth: "Josephine..."

Louis: "Okay." Huh? He gave up so easily?

Jo: "What?"

Louis: "I said okay. You can go to work. I will let you stay in our apartment from town. But you have three months to show me you like what you do. If I hear one time that you don't like it, you're going to quit and you will have to move back here."

Jo: "That's simple." I smile. "But I don't want to live there. That is Jake's place and I don't want to take his place. I want to rent a place. I want to pretend that I'm not part of a rich family."

Louis: "And with what money will you rent an apartment?"

Jo: "I have my savings account. I will use the money only for rent and until I will take the first salary."

Elizabeth: "Louis, you can't let her do this."

Louis: "If she wants to face the real life, outside being rich, I'm going to let her. But in three months, she's back. She will beg us to let her back. It will be just a lesson."

Jo: "You will see that it's not true. Now, excuse me, but I'm going to do a research about apartments."

I smile and I get up, going upstairs in my room. I change in something comfier, then I start to look for apartments. I'm surprised he let me do this and I will prove him that I'm going to be good on my own. While I look after apartments, my phone rings and I see I have a text from Hero. He sent me the address and he wished me luck again. It will be. I have a good feeling about this interview.
