Josephine
Jo: "Adam? What Adam?"
Louis: "Adam Crane. Your future husband."
Jo: "My future what?!" I say angrily. I can't do this. I won't do this. I won't marry a stranger!
Louis: "You heard me really well, dear. You are going to marry Adam. Me and his father established it already."
Jo: "I'm not going to marry a stranger just because you are saying this!" I laugh nervously.
Louis: "You aren't marrying a stranger. You two will have the chance to get to know each other before your wedding in September. I think three months are enough to get to know each other."
Jo: "You must be kidding, dad! I told you from the beginning that I'm not going to marry someone you chose. Did you ask yourself if I wanted to marry someone I don't know."
Louis: "You know the rules in our families, Josephine. It's been hundreds of years since this rule is going. Look at me and your mother. We're in love. Look at aunt Eden with Finn or Katherine with Zion."
Jo: "Katherine and Zion is just a coincidence, dad. I'm not going to be a player in your game."
Louis: "You have to. You can't embarrass us, Josephine. You are going to marry Adam!"
Elizabeth: "Louis, stop. Let her process the idea. If she doesn't want to marry him, she doesn't have to."
Louis: "Not in the hell. She's marrying him. End of conversation! And she should be happy because I didn't mention anything about her date with the fucking Fiennes."
Jo: "And what's the problem if I'm dating a Fiennes?"
Louis: "You can't date the enemy."
Jo: "Enough! You can't tell me who I can date, okay? And the marriage with Adam is off. I'm not marrying a stranger."
Louis: "If you do this, I'm going to disown you!"
Jo: "I don't give a shit about your money, dad. I'm doing great on my own!" I yell. "Now, excuse me. I have better things to do!" I get up and I leave the house.
He is crazy if he thinks I'm going to marry a stranger! But I have to do something about this. I have to call the only person who can help me go through this: Hero.
Phone call
"Hey."
"Do you think we can meet right now? I need you." I say trying to not cry.
"Sure. Where?"
"I'll book us a room at The Kensington. Can you be there in an hour?"
"Of course! Is everything alright?" He says worried.
"We're going to talk, okay?"
"Okay. See you soon, blondie."
I end the call with Hero and I quickly book a room at that hotel. When I'm done, I wipe my tears and I drive to that place. I need Hero to comfort me. I don't want to break up with him. But my father is crazy and I'm sure he's going to do anything to break us apart, so I can marry that Adam.
After 45 minutes, I arrive at the hotel and I meet Hero at the reception. I'm glad I see him. We take our key and we walk to the elevator without talking.
"Are you okay, Josephine?"
"Nope. I thought that once my parents are back, they would be changed. But I was so wrong..." I sigh as we get inside the elevator and I press the button for the third floor.
