Josephine
Our girls trip in Ibiza was really amazing. We had a lot of fun together and we were partying a lot, but it was time to come home. I missed work and I also missed Hero.
We arrived in the morning and as happened when we arrived in Ibiza, I felt asleep as soon as I arrived home.
I wake up when I hear a knock at the door. I quickly get up and I walk downstairs to open. It's Hero.
"Hi, blondie."
"Hello!" I say as I hug him.
"It looks like you really missed me." He kisses my forehead.
"I did. Did you look for what we need for getting married?"
"Yes."
"And what do we need?"
"Our passports or birth certificate. We're getting married in two weeks."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"That's perfect! And when I will meet with my family, I will share these news."
"I suggest you to stay calm. I don't think they will be happy."
"I don't care! I love you and I don't want to marry a stranger."
"I know, I love you too, but it's dangerous."
"Okay. What will happen later, when we will live together? Or when we will want to have a family?!"
"We will talk about it later, blondie." He pecks my lips. "How was your trip?"
"We had fun, but not as I expected." I drag him up the stairs and we go to sit on he bed.
"Why?"
"I didn't feel so great. I think I had food poising. But I'm going these days to do some tests. I'm not feeling well yet."
"Do you want me to do anything for you?"
"Just stay with me."
"Alright." He kisses my head.
"I bought you something."
"What?"
"A bottle of fine whiskey."
"Oh, thanks, blondie." He kisses me. "When are you going to the doctor?"
"I will make appointment tomorrow."
"Do you want me to join you?"
"No. I'm good. What do you think about what I did with your apartment?"
"I like everything at that project."
"We have to make small changes with the team and in a few days, we're going to meet with you. And if you like it, you can start the renovation."
"Perfect." He kisses my forehead.
A few days later...
I wipe my mouth and I wash my face. I don't know what's happening with me, but I feel awful in the last days. But I hope my tests results will come out soon and the doctor will tell me what's happening.
As I'm back in my office, I'm surprised to see Hero. What is he doing here? Our meeting is in a few hours.
"Hello?"
"Hi. What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for our meeting."
"Our meeting is in three hours, Hero."
"Nope. The meeting is in fifteen minutes."
"What?"
"It's almost 12pm, blondie."
"I thought we have the meeting around 15pm."
"Nope."
"I'm sorry. I totally forgot about it." I let my head down ans he walks to me.
"Are you good?" He lifts up my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"I'm stressed about everything. Our wedding, the tests results, work... I don't know what's wrong. I didn't even find a dress! I think I gained weight! Nothing fits from my wardrobe!"
"Hey, calm down." He smiles and he kisses my forehead. "I would marry you even if you would wear a bag, okay. I don't care what will you wear, I will still marry you."
"But I have a feeling this will be my first and last wedding and I really want to look good!"
"You will look good no matter what you will wear." He says and I kiss him.
"I love you so much."
"I love you."
A few minutes later, we leave my office and we go in the conference room where we start our meeting with all the team. We all worked at Hero's apartment and since I showed him the first project, everything changed, because that wasn't what I wanted for a penthouse in the middle of New York. This version of our project is better and I can see on Hero's face that he likes it more. After a successful meeting, we're finally done and Hero follows me in my office.
"After getting married, we're going in a honeymoon to New York. The apartment will be ready by then because I hired a team to do all that work in the apartment and they are starting tomorrow."
"Oh, wow. You thought about everything." I smile and I peck his lips.
"Of course! May I take you out for lunch?"
"Yeah, sounds good."
I take my bag and we leave to have lunch in town. We went to a small restaurant close to my workplace. We order some food and drinks and we wait.
"I have to tell you something."
"Okay, I'm listening."
"My parents found a wife for me. And I have to play this game until we get married."
"Absolutely no." I immediately say. "I didn't play any game of my parents about my supposed future husband. You won't do this."
"Jo..."
"Don't start. I didn't do this, so you also won't do this, Hero. We are a couple and I don't want this kind of behavior."
"I'm not doing too much, blondie. I will go to a dinner."
"If you want to go to a dinner with your family, you can take me. I'm your fiancée, your future wife."
"They weren't happy when they saw me with you a few months ago."
"I don't care."
"They would do anything to hurt your family, blondie. And they know you are your father's soft spot."
"I don't care. We love each other. We should make them understand we won't break up no matter what."
"Look, even if we do that, they are going to hurt you."
"Then we should stop everything. I don't want to hide for the rest our my life, okay?!"
"Hey, calm down."
We're interrupted by my phone, so I take my phone and I see it's from the hospital.
"Excuse me a second." I answer the call. "Hello?"
"Josephine Langford?"
"Yeah, that's me."
"We have your tests results and our obstetrician wants to see you. Something is worrying her with your tests."
"Why?"
"You might suffer of anemia and it's better to take precautions when you are pregnant."
