Part 33 - Revealing Everything

Hero

In the moment I hear Denise screaming, I let everything we were doing, I get dressed and I go to see what's happening.

"Denise? What's wrong?"

"D... Dad... Mom just called. He had a heart-attack."

"What are you saying?"

"Dad had a heart-attack! I have to go there, I have to be with him, Hero..." She comes to me and I hug her.

"Everything will be alright, sis. Dad will be fine."

"I'm going back to London." She breaks the hug and she takes her phone.

"You can't go alone. You are not safe."

"I don't care."

"I can't come with you. Josephine is pregnant and I don't think a flight will be okay for her."

Jo: "Hero? Denise? Everything is alright?" She comes inside.

Hero: "Our dad had a heart-attack."

Denise: "I'm going to London." She takes her phone and I suppose she's looking for flights. I really want to be with my family in these moments even if everything between us is destroyed. I want to be next to my sister and mother. But Jo needs me here. She's a part of my family now and she's carrying my baby boy. But with her condition, I can't leave her alone.

Jo: "Hero... Go. Go and be with your family. I'll be fine here, okay?" She touches my back and I smile.

Hero: "Oh, love... I can't leave you here. And you can't fly. It's a risk."

Denise: "Hey, I will be okay."

Jo: "No, I insist. You should be together. I will be fine. I promise I will update you with what I'm doing. I'm just pregnant, okay? I won't do anything dangerous."

Hero: "I don't know..."

Denise: "Hey, it's okay. Stay with her. I will be alright." She says. It hurts to decide something. I love them both, but I can't leave Jo.

Jo: "I have an idea. I can ask my friend, Mia, to come to New York and stay with me. And you can go with Denise in London. Your father needs both of you. I promise I will be okay."

Hero: "I don't know, baby..."

Jo: "Hero, you will go with Denise and that's it." She says confidently. "I'm fine. I'm an adult and I can take care of myself and our baby." She touches her bump and I smile. I have to give up, right?"

Hero: "Okay." I sigh. "Denise, I'll solve everything with the plane tickets and shit."

Denise: "Okay. Thank you. You are the best little brother." She says and I smile.

Jo: "And I'm going to call Mia."

I leave them and I go to my office. I buy two plane tickets for me and then I go back to Denise.

"And how is he?"

"I don't know. She just called me and she told me he was admitted in hospital. I think he's checked by doctors. He might need surgery, Hero..."

"He will be fine, sis." I hug her.

"Are you sure you want to come?"

"Yes. She insisted. I trust her. She will be fine. We will be gone only for a few days..."

"I... I think I'm not coming back to New York. I miss the girls a lot and I want to face him. I want to divorce Alex."

"That's good, I suppose."
