Part 34 - Peace

Hero

Hero: "So... it's time to talk, right?"

Eric: "Obviously."

Denise: "You can start, Eric. A lot happened, right?"

Eric: "I got a girlfriend. She's Ryle. End of story. Hero, your turn."

Hero: "Alright. I will be as quickly as you. I fell in love with the daughter of our family's enemy. We got married and we're pregnant. We left because she almost died on our father's command. End of story."

Mary: "Wait, what? What do you mean you are pregnant?"

Hero: "Josephine is carrying my child. She's pregnant with my baby. And when dad kidnapped her, she was already pregnant. That's why I decided to leave without you knowing. I had to protect her and our child."

Eric: "Are you serious?"

Denise: "He is serious. I suggest you and Langford family make peace. For the good of that baby. He needs to come in a peaceful world, not in a war between his families."

Mary: "It's a boy?" She says with tears in her eyes.

Hero: "Yes, it's a boy."

Mary: "I'm so happy for you, son." She comes to hug me.

Eric: "A boy?"

Mary: "Your dad will be thrilled by these news when he will be awake. I'm sure he's going to forget everything about Langford family only because it's a boy! A boy will be so welcomed in our family..."

Hero: "I don't want you to make peace just for the baby. You should do this because it's not normal to be in a war just because you are enemies."

Mary: "I will see what I'm going to do about your dad."

Eric: "Where is she?"

Hero: "She's home. She has some troubles with the pregnancy, and she can't fly."

Eric: "But you know if we're making peace, her family has to do the same, right?"

Hero: "We already talked with them. And they are willing to make peace."

Mary: "We will solve everything and you can come back home."

Hero: "We're staying there until the baby's born."

Mary: "You are welcomed in our house, darling."

Hero: "Thanks, mum. But I will say no to this. Until the baby's born, we are going to stay in New York. After that, I think we will buy a house or something."

Mary: "If that's what do you want, we're okay."

Denise: "Oh, shit. Today is your birthday! I totally forgot about it. Happy birthday!"

Mary: "Oh, yes! Happy birthday, son!" She comes to hugs me.

Eric: "Happy birthday, bro."

Hero: "Thank you, guys! Now, if you will excuse me, I'm heading upstairs to get some sleep."

Denise: "And I'm going to stay with my girls!"

Me and Denise walk upstairs and we go in our rooms. Of course I didn't came in my room for sleep. I miss my girl and I need to see her.

I dial her number and it takes a while until she picks up. When her face appears on my screen, I think something is going one. Her cheeks are pink and her pupils are dilated.

"Hi?"

"Hi, blondie. What's up? What you were doing?"

"Nothing. Just... Chilling." She sighs, bothered by the fact that I called.
