Josephine

I'm sitting on the hospital bed and I wait to have the baby in my arms.

The birth didn't go as I expected. I gave birth at home with my husband. It was a little bit traumatized for both of us. I didn't expect to be fully dilated, but I'm glad everything went well. Hero did great bringing our son on the world and dr. Smith arrived at our apartment soon after the baby was born. Meanwhile, the streets were cleared due to that horrible crash which didn't let us go to the hospital. We arrived safe at the hospital and I eliminated the placenta and they took some tests to see if everything is alright with me and the baby. I look at the door and I see Hero coming inside with a nice bouquet of flowers. This husband of mine is really nice.

"Hello, mummy."

"Hi." I smile and he kisses me.

"How are you feeling, baby?"

"I'm exhausted. But happy. Do you know when the baby will be brought to us?"

"Soon. I saw him. He's adorable now that he's clean and nice. And he's really chubby. He has some big red cheeks." He smiles.

"I know. He's adorable. Did you announce our families?"

"Not yet. Let's enjoy him for a few days."

"You say?"

"Yeah. And you don't need them here to stress you."

"Yeah, that's right. But I still feel bad for not telling them..."

"If you want, we can tell Denise. She knows how to keep a secret."

"Perfect. But Hero?"

"Yes, blondie?"

"We don't have a name for him."

"Oh, yeah. Right." He says and the nurse comes in the room with our boy.

Nurse: "Fiennes family?"

Jo: "Yes."

Nurse: "Your son is cleaned and really hungry. If you'll let me, I'll show you how to latch him."

Jo: "Yeah." The nurse comes closer as I unbutton my nightgown, then she latch the baby on my breast.

Nurse: "He's really hungry." She smiles. "You are doing really great, Josephine."

Jo: "Thank you." I gently cradle the baby's head.

Nurse: "Would you like to have the baby her overnight? Or if you want, we can take him so you can get some rest."

Jo: "I think it's okay, I want him here."

Nurse: "Good. Now... I have to make his papers. Please, tell me the baby's name, so I can register him in our database." I look at the nurse and I stay quiet. Our baby still doesn't have a name.

Hero: "We don't have a name yet."

Nurse: "Oh, that's alright. I'll come later." I look at the baby and he doesn't move.
