Josephine
I see Hero's calling me. After days of ignoring me, he finally calls. I allow the call and no one is saying something.
Phone call
"Hero?" I decide to break the ice.
"Hi."
"Hi? That's all you say after days of not calling or texting? I don't think this will work."
"Jo, wait..."
"I'm sorry, I don't want to hear anything. Goodbye, Hero."
I end the call. I might be wrong by not letting him explain what happened and why he didn't call, but I'm stubborn and I can't step on my ego.
I take my glass of wine and I join Jake on the terrace.
"Who were you talking to?"
"An asshole."
"Do you want me to beat him?"
"No. I'll just ignore him. It was a failed relationship."
"Who is he in the end?"
"An asshole. It's not important. I'm over it." I sigh and I take a sip of my wine. "What about you, bro? Are you seeing someone?"
"Oh..." He laughs. "I'm seeing someone new every time."
"Do you not want to settle and have a family?"
"Maybe later, when I will be in our father's place. So, I need to know the times you go and come from work, so I can drive you home, nice and safely."
"Jake, I don't need a bodyguard. I can take care of myself."
"I don't care. Dad told me to watch you and I will do it."
"And what if I want to see someone?"
"Then go and see someone. But I'll wait outside. And I'll be prepared in case you need condoms or you need me to beat him."
"Ugh, I hate you."
"I love you too, sis." He smirks and he finishes his cigarette and we get inside. We're interrupted by his phone and he picks up. "Hello? Oh, hell yes. I'm coming right away. See you soon, baby." He ends the call and he smirks. "I gotta go, sis. I have something to do."
"Something to fuck, right?" I roll my eyes.
"Totally. So, what time do I need to be here in the morning?"
"I can drive myself."
"If I don't do this, dad's going to kill both of us. So, please, be nice and tell me."
"I wake up at 7am and I leave at 8am so I can be at work at 9am. Is that a suitable hour for you to wake up after a hard night?"
"Of course, it is. Now, will you excuse me? I'm getting laid tonight." He smirks and he walks to the door. "Have a good night, sis. See you in the morning."
"Use protection, bro. It's not time for babies."
"Always, sis." He says and he leaves.
I lock the door after Jake leaves and I go to finish my glass of wine. Meanwhile, I decide to call Mia. She was right about Hero and I have to share some apologize to her.
Phone call
"Mi? Hi."
"Jo, what a surprise. Isn't your boyfriend enough?"
"Look... I know I was wrong. I'm sorry. Me and Hero are done. Actually, nothing happened between us. I was so wrong about him and I fought with you for him. I'm sorry, Mi. Can you forgive me?"
