Josephine
It's been a few days since we came to US and it's nice to live in our bubble, but I have a feeling that something will break this bubble soon.
I gently escape from Hero's arms and I take his t-shirt from the floor, putting it on me. I go to the kitchen and I start to make our breakfast and coffee. I make some porridge with fruits and honey, then I prepare to coffees. An espresso for Hero and latte for me, as I'm not allowed to have too much coffee in pregnancy. When I'm done, I walk back in the bedroom to wake him up.
"Babe, breakfast is ready."
"Hmm..."
"C'mon, get up. The coffee will be cold soon."
"Can I get my morning kiss?" He says with his eyes closed and I smile. I lean on and I give him a quick peck. "This is not my morning kiss." He opens his eyes, dragging me over him. "Kiss me, blondie."
"I did kiss you, Mr. Fiennes."
"You gave me a peck. Kiss me properly."
"Okay."
I kiss him and in the same time, I feel him getting harder and I giggle, getting up.
"Don't you dare to left me hanging."
"I will." I laugh and I get out of our bedroom. "Hurry up, the coffee will get really cold."
I go back in the kitchen and I start to eat. Ten minutes later, Hero comes to the kitchen and he starts to eat.
"What are the plans for today?"
"I have something to do in town today, so I will let you alone for a few hours."
"Oh..." I say, being sad.
"Don't be sad, love. I need so find something to work, so I can support us."
"Then I want to work too."
"I know. You are starting work in two weeks."
"What? Where?"
"Will recently opened a branch in New York and you will work here."
"Oh, wow. You shouldn't have done that, Hero."
"I didn't. I just told Will that we will be here for a long time, and he said that you can work at their branch."
"Thank you." I lean on and I kiss him.
"You are welcome, baby."
"Oh, I remembered that I found a doctor. I made an appointment for next week."
"Perfect."
After we're done eating, Hero leaves and I start to clean the apartment. Two hours later, my phone is ringing. It's my mother. Shit.
Phone call
"Josephine? Where are you?"
"I... I'm at work, mum. What's up?"
"Cut the bullshit, Josephine. Where are you and with whom?"
"Mom, what are you talking about?"
"What are you doing with a Fiennes? And why you are not in London?"
"It's complicated." I sigh.
"What's happening, Josephine? Why are you with him?"
"I'm in love with him, mum. I don't want to marry Adam. I'm happy with Hero. But I can't say more, I'm sorry. Please, be patient. I will be back home someday."
"Josephine... You can tell me anything."
"I know. But this... this is more sensitive than ever, mum."
"You are safe?"
"I am safe. Hero is taking care of me."
"Good. Don't come home. The things between us and the Fiennes are not good."
"Okay... I miss you, mum."
"And I miss you too, darling. I'll see you soon, okay?"
"Okay. Bye, mum."
I end the call and I sit on the couch, then I start to cry. It's been almost two weeks since we left London and I miss everyone. My family, my friends... I hate the war between our families and I hope this baby will bring peace between them.
I hear the door and I quickly wipe my face. I don't want Hero to see me like this.
"Hi, blondie." He walk to me and he leans on to kiss me.
"Hi." I say and I avoid his look.
"Hey, what's up?" He lifts up my chin. "Did you cry?"
"Yes. The hormones. I was watching..." He interrupts me.
"Cut the bullshit, blondie. What happened?"
"Nothing, seriously."
"Josephine... you can't lie to me. Why did you cry?"
"My mom called. And I told her I'm with you. The things back home are not good, Hero. What if we're going to tell them we're going to have a baby? What if our baby will stop the war?"
"I don't know what to say, Jo."
"I don't want to put you in anger."
"I know, but what if they will make peace as they will know we will be parents?"
"Let's get married first and let's tell them after the baby will be born."
"I don't know..."
"We have time, okay? Don't stress about it, blondie." He kisses my temple and I let it go. We don't get anything if we fight, so I'm not going to continue this discussion. "Oh, by the way... I talked at the city hall and we can get married on Friday."
"What?" I get up and I get dizzy.
"Woah, easy, love." He catches me before I can fall. "You are okay?"
"A little bit dizzy. And sick." I say covering my mouth and I quickly run to the bathroom.
Hero comes after me and we spend the next minutes there.
"Let's get you in bed." He lifts me up and he takes me to the bedroom.
"How can you love me when I'm throwing up?"
"You are so silly, love." He laughs and he kisses my forehead. "You are my fiancée, my future wife and the most importantly, the mother of my boy."
"Huh?" I suddenly feel better. "Boy? How can you say it's a boy? I'm only a few weeks pregnant." I smile.
"I just have a feeling that this little bundle of joy." He touches my lower abdomen. "Is a boy."
"We will see. I think I have to do some genetic tests and you can find the gender."
"I can't wait to know I was right about the gender."
"Don't be so sure. I have a feeling it's a girl."
"You will see, we're having a boy."
"I'm not going to fight with you." I smirk and he kisses me.
"That's good. So... What would you like to eat for lunch?"
"I don't know. Some salad?"
"Maybe something filling, love? You need for, so our baby can grow." He caresses my abdomen and I smile.
"You are really sweet. And you will be a good father."
"You say?"
"I do." I put my hand over his. "This baby is really lucky to have you as their father no matter from what family you are coming."
"Thank you, baby." He pecks my lips. "And I have to mention the baby's lucky to have you as a mother."
