CHAPTER 47

Cold Attitude

[KIELANDRO]

The light from the outside shone as I felt the after effects of alcohol. My body aches and my head hurts like hell.

Dang, hangover.

I covered my eyes with my left hand as I try to lower the impact of the light. Sino bang nagbukas ng kurtina?

"Good thing, you're awake," rinig kong boses sa may paanan ko.

"Wala ka bang matinong magawa? You know that I'm sleeping with lights off, you should've gave me time to prep," inis kong sabit na tinawanan lang niya. "Whatever, what time is it by the way?"

"It's 7:00."

Napabangon ako. "Are you insane? Why disturb when it's still so early." napakunot ang noo ko.

"It's early if Gabrielle hasn't woke up, but he did. Ang so that means it's already time." she sarcastically blurted.

"Orasan mo ba ang anak mo? Why make him the basis if it's still early or not?"

"No reasons," she winked.

"Ow," I winced in pain. Biglaang sumakit ang kabilang parte ng ulo ko.

"Inom kapa," aniya tyaka may kinuha sa table. "Ito, oh," inabot niya saakin.

Sinamaa ko siya ng tingin. "I wouldn't have too if only you, just didn't let him in, and no thanks, sa 'yo na 'yan," I refused the alcohol she offered.

She heaved a sigh. "Come on, Kiel. He's still your brother. May karapatan pa din siya dito kahit sa mga nagawa niya..."

I sarcastically laughed. "That's before he abandoned this family and disowned our surname. It's his whatever side you see.," I answered with full of hatred.

She shrugged. "Kahit na, hindi padin tama na inunahan mo siya ng suntok."

Hindi ako makapaniwalang tumingin sa kanya. "Are you blind or something? Kung kaya n'yong tignan siya na nilalandi ang mga maid habang kotang-kita niyang sarili niyang anak, pwed ako hindi. If you would tolerate that kund of behavior then wala kayong pinag-kaiba sa kanya."

"Watch your tongue. I am not tolerating that kind of behavior he has. Prinoprotektahan ko lang pamilya natin."

"Saang anggulo?" I shouted.

"Isipim mo nga? Did you even think once kung sino ang sobrang naapektuhan sa sitwasyon natin ngayon? Did you even think about your niece? Kung kay Eshvan lang walang problema 'yon dahil wala naman 'yong pakialam. But her? Did you even think of her feelings. Bata pa siya Kiel, I know she needs someone to be on her sides."

"What do you think of us, then?"

"Oo nga, we're there when she needs us, nabibigay natin ang pangangailangan niya pero iba padin kung ama niya talaga. You know how lonesome she is after her mother's death. Kaya nga sinusubukan kung ayusin ang pamilyang 'to."

"Then he should fix himself first. Walang mangyayari kung ipapagpatuloy niya ang mga  kabalastugan niya. Kung titignan mo, do you think he cares about her daughter? Kung oo, then he would voluntarily change himself, pero ano nagbago ba? Lumala pa nga, eh!"

Napaupo siya sa kama. "Let's just stop this, if that's the case then so be it. I can't alter anyone's decision here dahil malalaki na kayo. That's your point of view, your understanding, then be it. Hindi na ako mangingialam." Napatayo siya. "You know what, I'm really tired of this non-stop arguments. Let's end it here."

"This just how this family works," hanol kong ani.

Napakibit-balikat siya. "Anyways there's a chicken broth here for your hangover. Drink this habang mainit-init pa," she offered.
