"Taehyung?"

The name, spoken in a questioning tone, came out of Jimin's mouth involuntarily as he stood in the doorway of living room with his house keys in his hand.

A strange, resentful feeling fills him as reddened brown eyes pull away from the floor and find his.

"Where were you?"

"What's going on?" Jimin takes a quick step towards him.

"Jimin," Taehyung suddenly stands up, stopping the other's steps, "You told me to come, you told me to wait, so I did, where were you?"

"I called you," Jimin looks at him completely confused, unable to understand the reason for his behavior, "I wanted to let you know that my interview ended early, but you didn't pick up, and my battery was dead, so I went to the cafe, but you weren't there."

"You went to the cafe?" Taehyung nervously chews his lower lip, "With Jaeyoung?"

"I- yes," Jimin replies, too surprised to question the direction of their dialog, "He offered to drop me off, because we ran into each other at the school I was interviewing at?"

"Oh," Taehyung smiles slightly and suggestively, "You ran into each other just like that night at the club when I smashed his face in?"

"What?" Jimin asks while grimacing, "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

Taehyung points to a spot he doesn't even know where with his index finger, "Will that jerk ever stop hovering around you?"

"He's still my friend, Taehyung."

"Your friend? Jimin, he's in love with you!"

Jimin looks at him with rapidly blinking eyes, what he said is not wrong but not new so he cannot make much sense of the situation. And yet, he feels he's already a bit late to explain this to Taehyung.

"I talked to him about this, we decided to stay friends and don't see each other that way anymore."

Taehyung lets out a deep breath, but it's not a sigh of relief, it's more like saying that he's tired and Jimin knows him well enough to understand it.

"Are you sure he doesn't see you that way?"

"Does it matter?"

Jimin's calm voice does nothing to help Taehyung's nerves, which are waiting for just one touch to be inflamed.

"Of course, it does matter!"

Taehyung takes a step, then takes another one, as if pulled by an invisible string towards Jimin.

The movement caused the blonde to reflexively take steps backwards, and when his back touched the ledge of the door he had just entered, he didn't even realize how he found himself between some thing and Taehyung's body again.
