I've never really explored my ancestry because I wanted to. It was kind of just forced upon me. It was like history that I had to learn. Probably because I had already kind of had evil blood in my veins.

No, it wasn't because of my dad and what he's done. He only succumbed to the dark part of his blood. But what I'm talking about is different.

My grandpa, the first Spinjitzu master and the one that created Ninjago, was a child of two separate, contradicting worlds. He was born from the Oni and the Dragon. Good and bad.

The Oni, which were my ancestors, were the literal embodiment of evil. They ravaged the lands that they came upon. They cursed all living things so that all they became were stone. Something that wouldn't get in their way. The Oni had attacked Ninjago once. And only once.

The other part of my blood was the dragons. The dragons were creators. They loved life and gave it, too. They fought constantly with the Oni and were always in a never ending war. They fought over who was going to raise my grandpa, the mysterious child between worlds. But my grandpa chose none of them. He refused to be stuck in the middle of the battle. He created Ninjago. Not to just give people a place to live, but to also hide for himself. He didn't want to be something that was fought over.

But now... apparently, the Oni are back.

"We've been flying all night." Lloyd tugged at his blonde curls, "What if something happened to Mom? To our friends? The citizens? What if something happened to Dad?" Lloyd asked, turning towards me with bright, panicked eyes, "I will never forgive myself, Liv, if Dad turns evil again and joins the Oni because I couldn't protect him."

"The ship is going as fast as it can, Lloyd." I assured my brother, "Zane has been trying to make the ship go as fast as possible. We'll get there and save Ninjago again. This time, I'll be right next to you." I assured my brother.

"Hey." It was the rest of the team, minus Zane, P.I.X.A.L, and Nya. Kai sat down next to Lloyd and nudged his shoulder with his. "Hey, Lloyd, Liv. You guys feeling alright?"

"Lloyd is a little... worried." I nodded my head, "Our parents are still back there and my dad... well, he's not really stable, so," I sighed, "you know what I mean."

"Yeah." Cole nodded, "I'm just glad that we didn't take Vania with us. She offered to help. Take her whole kingdom's army behind us and march into Ninjago. I told her no. The last thing I want is to take my girlfriend into battle and have her turned into stone. Need I remind you, I almost got turned into stone the last war we had."

"I still can't believe that you didn't confess to Vania with us there!" Jay protested, "You know that I like seeing these things."

We all laughed at what Jay said and he grinned, glad to see he could lighten the mood. That's what was so special about Jay. He always made people smile and make the darkest days a little less moody. I then said, "We'll get through this, guys. I know we can."

"Yeah, because this time, we've got the master of darkness with us." Kai ruffled up my hair and I shoved his hand away with a nose wrinkle.

"Hooray for me." I said dryly, teasingly, and the others laughed again.

"Did you text Victor yet?" Lloyd asked me and I nodded, biting my lip. I had texted my friend as soon as I heard about the Oni attack. Unfortunately, my friend hadn't responded. I could only assume the worst now.

"Don't worry, Liv. We'll get your boyfriend back. Maybe you guys can confess your feelings after we kick some Oni butt. You don't have to, but I'm just saying. That's a pretty romantic setting." Jay grinned and I rolled my eyes.
