Chapter XXII - Freedom

HALOS hindi rin magkalayo ang table sa pagitan nila. She was obviously provoking Javier by using Ryo tonight. Ryo doesn’t seemed to mind it. Dumating ang mga inorder ni Ryo na pagkain. Nagsimula silang maghapunan. She felt a little bit of guilt kasi they plan to have dinner together tonight but it turns out almost ruined because of her schedule and her ex-husband. She made a mental note to ask Ryo another dinner after this para makabawi naman siya sa binata.

Napansin niyang tahimik na ito mula kaninang dumating sila bagay na nakapagtataka because he was usually making jokes by now.

“Is there a problem?” tanong niya.

He sighed deeply. “Aren’t you uncomfortable around those people? They did a lot of things against you.”

She gave him a soft smile. “It’s fine, Ryo.”

“You always said that you’re fine when we both know that things are heavy inside you, Ivella.”

Natigilan siya sa sinabi nito. Seryosong seryoso si Ryo ngayon.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” nagpakawala na naman ito ng malalim na buntong hininga. “Hindi ko lang maatim na nakikita kang ganyan.”

“Bakit? Ano bang nakikita mo?” she dared asking him.

“You’re....” tumigil ito ng bahagya at saka tumitig sa kaniya. “...unhappy, and I understand you. Hindi naman madali ang mga nangyari sayo. Still, I was hoping na huwag kang kainin ng puot dyan sa puso mo. Javier is not worthy of anything from you,”

She blinked twice upon hearing what he had said. “Things are different now, Ryo.”

“I know, you are planning to launch your biggest revenge. You were just waiting for the right time.” sabi nito. “I can easily read people, Ivella. Isang bagay na natutunan ko habang nasa serbisyo.”

“Are you disappointed? You’re attracted to a woman who cannot let go of her past.”

“That’s already a part of you.” anito. “I wanted to help you heal the wounds that he had left to you but I know you’re not yet ready. It’s okay, I understand you.”

She gave him a bittersweet smile. Hindi niya alam kung saan patutungo ang kung anong mayroon sila ni Ryo. He clearly wanted commitment but Ivella isn’t sure of everything. She just want them to stay like this because she feels like she will never be ready of anything he wants them to be.

Nagpaalam siya sa binata na magre-retouch muna sandali. That’s why she went to the comfort room. Nilapag niya ang clutch bag na dala sa tabi ng sink at saka tumigin sa salamin. Sinalubong niya ang reflection ng mukha sa salamin. She tried smiling but it can see through her eyes what’s Ryo had seen to her.

She’s really unhappy.

At the same time, she didn’t want to hold back her revenge. She really wants Javier to suffer at kailangan na niyang gawin iyon sa lalong madaling panahon bago pa nga siya tuluyang kainin ng puot tulad ng sinasabi ni Ryo.

She needs to get out of this darkness.

Huminga siya ng malalim at saka lumakad palabas ng comfort room pero mabilis din siyang napahinto nang makita si Javier at Gia. They were almost at the entrance of the comfort room and their lip were glued on each other.

The nerve of them.

Tumigil ang dalawa nang mapansin ang presensya niya. Ngising ngisi na naman si Javier sa kaniya samantalang si Gia ay tila nakaramdam ng hiya.
