The effect he had on me was nearly instant. Jeremy could be the perfect summer fling before college, and I'm glad my little stunt worked. I'd confess it to him later, after hours of ravenous lovemaking, I'm sure.

"So, Jeremy, are you new to town? I haven't seen you before. I'm sure if I did, I'd remember you." I blushed. I was no longer playing a part; he was beautiful, and the way his arms wrapped around my body felt too good.

He eyed May, then refocused his attention, a barely visible grin on his lips. He looked completely out of place. All he gave me was a nod. I looked towards May, hoping she'd jump in, but instead she was playing with the ring on her right hand; her nervous tactic.

"Where are you from?"

He rested a hand on my kayak, and it sent an electric shock through my system. "About an hour away, in Bookings."

I raised a brow. My father does business there every so often. "Bookings. That's a nice town. Are you in high school? College?"

I could feel May staring at me, which meant I needed to dial down the third-degree, but I wanted to know everything about Jeremy that I could. His presence alone was intoxicating.

He shifted his muscular frame towards May, hoping to include her in the conversation. "I just graduated high school. What about you ladies?" He asked, trying to get May's attention.

She cleared her throat when she realized it was her turn to talk. "So did we." she spoke softly. She was just as taken by Jeremy as I was, and it was like she was trying to hide from him.

I ran a hand through my hair. "Well, since you're new around here... a quick way to make some new friends would be to come to my party tonight."

That got an instant reaction from both of them. Jeremy's head bounced between May and me. "That sounds fun, I'm just not really the party type. I don't even know how long I'm in town, anyways."

I arched a brow, concealing a grin. "But you're the rope-swinging type?"

He chuckled. His laugh, as faint as it was, nearly shook my entire system. "Yeah, I guess so."

May was amused at how far I was taking this. I watched her try to remain cool. She was a terrible liar. "C'mon, Jeremy. Let me be your first friend, and I'll introduce you to some people that I know you'll like." My shit-eating grin was starting to change his mind.

When he glanced over at May, I sent her eye-daggers to back me up here. She was damn near radio silent. Instantaneously, she perked up.

"She's right. Summer throws the best parties. Her older brother always scores us drinks, and... we'll both be there. It'll be fun." I watched the light fill his eyes. Maybe free alcohol was his ticket.

He sighed, and breathed out a laugh. "Alright, I'll be there."

I forced myself to remain nonchalant, casually throwing a smirk across my lips. "Good choice. My address is 1330 Lake Drive. It's a big, white house. Winding driveway. You can't miss it."

He takes one last glance at the both of us before he begins wading back to the Golden Twins. "See you there. Thanks for the invite."

"Bring Noah and Alex, too. Bye, Jeremy!" I waved. I shamelessly watched as he swam back to the boys, and finally kicked and squealed once he was out of ear-shot. "Holy shit, May. He's coming to my party tonight!"

She pressed her brows together, trying not to laugh. "And what party is that, exactly? Because I thought we were playing Go Fish on your patio tonight. Chips and queso."

A devilish grin took up my entire face. "Plans change. I'll call Luke to get a keg, you call Brooks and invite everyone else." She nodded, adjusting her paddle. "Now, let's turn home. My makeup is smeared and we have lots of prep work to do."

May and I giggled like little girls all the way home. Tonight, the adventures begin.
