2.3 - No Place Like Home

Becca sleeps on her bed & begins twisting & turning.
Becca: Dad!
Mum: Where the hell have you been?
Becca: He's dead.
Becca wakes up.
In the TARDIS console room:
Becca: Doctor?
The Doctor: Becca?
Becca: I've been having bad dreams.
The Doctor: What About?
Becca: My Family.
The Doctor: Your missing your family aren't you?
Becca: Yeah.
The Doctor: It happens all the time, I don't do families.
Becca: Can I go & visit my family?
The Doctor: Don't seem why not.
The TARDIS materialises.
Becca: Thanks.
The TARDIS materialises outside of a park.
The Doctor: North London, just a week after we left.
Becca: I'll be fifteen minutes at the least.
The Doctor: Alright see you in a few minutes.
Man: Excuse me?
The Doctor: Yeah?
Man: Do you want this newspaper?
The Doctor: Thanks.
The Doctor reads it & notices the date is May 31st 2022 he throws the newspaper & runs.
Man: Some people honestly.
Becca comes to the outside of the apartment block & seees an ambulance & a man being carried away on a stretcher.
Becca: Dad? Dad! Dad!
Eva: Becca?
Alex: Num?
Eva: Becca!
Becca starts crying.
Becca: Mum!
Eva slaps Becca.
Mum: You stupid girl!
Becca: Mum?
The Doctor: Becca!
Becca: Doctor?
Alex: You've been gone for four years!
Becca: I've been gone for four years?
The Doctor: I thought you were gone for a week.
Intro
In the park:
The Doctor & Becca sit on two swings.
Becca: How did this happen?
The Doctor: The TARDIS, I think she screwed up.
Becca: She screwed up big time.
The Doctor: This happened before you know.
Becca: Really?
The Doctor: An old friend of mine, Rose Tyler, I thought we were gone twenty-four hours but we were gone for a year, but this is more severe.
Becca: Yeah, definitely.
The Doctor: I'm sorry, about your dad.
Becca: He had heart disease, it was bound to happen some day, The Doctor said to us that his days were limited when they diagnosed him.
The Doctor: No one deserves to be condemned to death like that.
Becca: I know.
The Doctor: So, would you like it if I left you here for a while.
Becca: I don't know, half of me wants to stay here & the other half wants me to go to the TARDIS & never come back, After everything I've seen, Daleks, Cybermen, the eye of Orion, fish that can talk, it's the life I've always wanted.
The TARDIS chimes.
The Doctor: Hang on I'll be back.
Becca: Doctor?
The Doctor: Just stay here, something's wrong, I'm not putting you in danger.
The Doctor enters the TARDIS.
The Doctor looks at the screen.
The Doctor: Some form of cult using the vortex, but what for?
The Doctor exits the TARDIS.
Becca: Doctor?
The Doctor: Do you have a church around here?
Becca: There used to be one round the corner, it's shut now.
The Doctor: Or is it?
Becca: What?
The Doctor: Becca, stay with your family, I need to look at something.
Becca: I'm not leaving you!
The Doctor: Becca! Stay with your family!
Becca: Alright! Fine!
Becca walks off.
The Doctor: Becca!
Becca: Save it!
In Becca's family flat:
Alex: So where have you been for four years?
Becca: I've been gone for a week.
Eva: We last saw you in 2019, it's 2022!
Becca: I'm sorry, but you have to believe me! It's been a week for me!
Eva: Sit down & tell us where you've been.
Becca: Who wants tea?
Alex: Don't try to change the subject.
Becca: Just travelling.
Eva: Your passport is still in your room.
Becca: In Time & Space
Eva: Don't talk rubbish.
Becca: I'm not, the things I've seen you wouldn't believe it.
Eva: I probably won't
Becca: Remember that explosion on the underground.
Eva: Yeah.
Becca: I was there.
Eva: Did you cause it?
Becca: No, Cybermen did.
Eva: Cybermen?
Becca: They had a base in the station & they would convert people to Cybermen.
Eva: Don't talk rubbish.
Becca: I'm not, my friend, the Doctor, he blew the base up & from then onwards I chose to travel with him, I've been to the eye of Orion, I've met Jack.
Alex: Jack?
Becca: Beanstalk Jack.
Eva: She's lost it.
Becca: I haven't! Look, come with me.
Outside of the church:
The doctor sonics the door & opens & a passing cat meows.
The Doctor: You didn't see any of that.
The cat Meows & Walks past the Doctor.
The doctor enters the church.
Lord Kryn: State your name!
The Doctor: I am the Doctor.
Lord Kryn: What are you doing here Doctor?
The Doctor: My ship noticed the energy that you was draining was from the time vortex, what for?
Lord Kryn: The Cult of Rendor dates back to 476 AD.
The Doctor: The dark ages then?
Lord Kryn: Yes.
The Doctor: What was the vortex energy for?
Lord Kryn: To take over Earth & now we have it.
The Doctor: Stop this!
Lord Kryn: Activate the vortex energy.
A group of hooded people put their hands on a crystal ball & a beam of energy flies through the church roof.
Outside of the TARDIS:
Becca: There's normally a spear key here above the P, he think I wouldn't notice him putting it here, but it's not there.
The beam shoots up.
Alex & Eva look at it.
Becca: It's coming from the church!
Becca runs to the church but she sees people walking towards it.
Eva: Worship the cult of Rendor!
Alex: Worship the cult of Rendor!
Becca runs into the church.
Becca: Doctor!
The Doctor: Becca stay back!
Becca: Whats going on?
The Doctor: This cult they're possessing people.
Becca: Why haven't we been affected?
The Doctor: Why haven't been affected?
Lord Kryn: You both have background radiation!
Becca: Background radiation?
The Doctor: You soak it up whilst travelling in the TARDIS.
Becca: Good to know.
Becca notices the crystal ball & walks towards it.
The Doctor: Becca?!
Becca: I'm gonna stop this.
Becca picks up the crystal ball & smashes it, All of the possessed stop saying 'worship the cult of Rendor', Lord Kryn screams as he dissolves & so does his cult.
Outside of the flats:
The Doctor: So where too?
Becca: I think home is the best place for me right Now.
The Doctor: What do you mean?
Becca: I'm not gonna travel in the TARDIS anymore.
The Doctor: Ok, That's fine.
The Doctor walks away.
Becca: Doctor! Doctor! It's not forever! I just need to stay here for a while! Doctor!
The TARDIS materialises.
Eva: Becca?
Becca: He's left me.
Eva: Come here.
Eva hugs Becca & she cries.

River: Hello sweetie!
The Doctor: You've salvaged a weeping angel?
River: Yeah.
The Doctor: How?
River: It washed up on a beach in Koh-Samui.
The Doctor: Something's wrong.
