4.1 - The Child

A man opens a door.
Kane: Alex, Hi.
Alex: Hiya!
Bell: (offscreen) Is the babysitter here?
Kane: Yeah, Come in.
Inside:
Alex comes inside, Kane closes the door, they walk into a living room, a young child is sat on the sofa, she is watching TV.
Kane: This is Harper, she won't be much bother.
Alex: Hi Harper, I'm Alex, I'll be looking after you whilst mummy & daddy go to dinner for the night.
Harper: Ok.
Alex: Is there anything I'll need to do, other than just make sure she doesn't get up to mischief?
Kane: No, she's had dinner & she needs to be in bed by seven, so she should be fine.
Alex: Ok!
Bell comes in.
Bell: Right? Are we ready to go then?
Kane: Er, yeah!
Bell: Right, have fun you two!
Kane: There's some food & fizzy stuff in the fridge & freezer if your hungry.
Alex: Thanks, My sister made dinner for me before I left, so I'm full, but thanks anyway!
Bell: Oh, Taxis here! Come on then!
Bell & Kane leave.
Alex: Bye! Have a good night!
The door shuts.
-So Harper, what do like to do for fun?
In a park:
The TARDIS is parked in a park.
In the TARDIS:
The Doctor is laying down on her back & is humming, suddenly the alarms go off, she shoots up & runs over to the TARDIS console.
The Doctor: What is it?!
The Doctor reads the scanner.
-Time sensitive detected?! What?
The TARDIS chimes.
-If there's a Timelord that is on this planet, who knows what it could be. Maybe it's one of my past selves.
The Doctor looks down.
-Take me there.
She pulls down on the levers.

A man & a woman enter a TARDIS.
In the TARDIS:
Woman: Are we doing the right thing?
Man: Yeah, think about it, if we go to Earth, we won't be caught up in anymore of Rassilon's ridiculous political views.
Woman: That's what Romana's trying to thwart.
Man: Look we're doing the right thing.
Woman: Do you think she'll adjust?
Man: Yes, she's only 100 years old, she'll be fine.
Woman: If you say so.
The man punches in the coordinates, The TARDIS materialises.
On the street:
The TARDIS materialises, The Doctor exits.
The Doctor: The TARDIS indicates around here.
The Doctor scans the area with her sonic screwdriver, it begins to go haywire.
-This one?
The Doctor knocks on the door, she puts her hand on the wall.
-Ah!
She takes her hand of of the wall & looks at it, Alex opens the door.
Alex: Yes?
The Doctor scans her.
-What the?
The Doctor: It's not you, can I come in?
Alex: No.
The Doctor: Why?
Alex: I don't know you, plus I'm babysitting.
The Doctor: Ah that makes a lot of sense.
Alex: Excuse me?
The Doctor walks in.
In the house:
Alex: Get out.
The Doctor scans around the house.
The Doctor: No.
Alex: Excuse me?
The Doctor: This house its full of artron energy.
Alex: What?
The Doctor: So, your not from the planet Gallifrey.
Alex: Gallifrey? Look, whatever it is your up to, I want you out, now, I'm looking after a child & your scaring her.
The Doctor: A child? Where?
The Doctor tries to go into the living room.
Alex: Oh no you don't!
Alex grabs The Doctor's jacket & throws her out.
-Get away from this house before I call the police!
Alex slams the door, A woman is watching.
Ortiz: I've got her & the TARDIS.
Slight pause.
-You want me to just take the TARDIS? Why?
Slight pause.
-Ok boss, I understand.
The Doctor enters the TARDIS, she takes out a box, she rummages through it.
The Doctor: A Time ring! Forgot I had that!
She puts it in her pocket.
Ortiz puts a device onto the TARDIS, The Doctor turns around.
The Doctor: Who are you?
Ortiz: Like you don't know.
The Doctor: What's that supposed to mean?
Ortiz: You'll see.
Ortiz presses a button on the device, she & the TARDIS disappear.
The Doctor: No! The TARDIS! She's gone! Well at least I've got the time ring to get about, who was she? Hm.
In a ship:
Robot: Time sensitive detected!
Robot 2: Seek the Time sensitive!
On Earth:
The Doctor continues to watch the house, Alex exits.
Alex: Leave or I will call the police.
The Doctor: Let me explain.
Alex: Two minuets.
The Doctor: I come from a planet Gallifrey-
Alex rolls her eyes.
-I thought I was alone on this planet, until my ship detected another of my people.
Alex: Right...
The Doctor: My ship brought me here to your house.
Alex: It's not my house.
The Doctor: How well do you know it?
Alex: I don't.
The Doctor: What about the child your babysitting?
Alex: I don't.
The Doctor tilts her head.
The Doctor: Exactly.
Alex: Alright.
The Doctor: Really?
Alex: Yeah.
The Doctor: Yay! I'm The Doctor by the way.
Alex: Doctor Who?
The Doctor smiles.
The Doctor: Just the Doctor.
Alex: Alex Holt.
The Doctor: Nice to meet you.
In the house:
The Doctor scans around with the sonic screwdriver, it begins to beep rapidly, The Doctor follows it.
In the TARDIS:
Man: A house, we'll fit it fine!
Woman: Yeah!
They press buttons, The TARDIS morphs into a house.
Man: Our names shall be Bell, Kane & Harper, we're a normal family, ok?
Woman: Ok.
Girl: Ok daddy.
In the house:
The Doctor opens a door.
The Doctor: Oh my-
Alex sighs.
Alex: What?
She looks through the door.
-Oh my god.
The Doctor: It's a TARDIS!
Alex: TARDIS?
The Doctor: Time & relative dimensions in space.
Alex: In English?
The Doctor: It's a time machine.
Alex: Oh my.
The Doctor: It's the same thing that I travel in, except mine is a police box.
Alex: So, I'm babysitting an alien?!
The Doctor clenches her lips.
The Doctor: Yep.
Alex: This is silly! Have I been spiked?
The Doctor: You wish you had.
Alex: Mhm.
The Doctor: That means that the girl is a Timelord.
Alex: Oh my.
The door blows up, Alex & The Doctor scream.
Robot: Time sensitive detected! Seek!
Robot 2: Locate!
Head robot: Exterminate!
The Doctor: No!
Alex: What is it?
The Doctor: Daleks.
Dalek: Seek, locate, exterminate!
The Doctor & Alex run down the stairs & into the living room.
The Doctor: Protect her!
The Daleks continue to drone.
Alex: What is she?
Harper: I think it's time!
The Doctor: Time for what?
Harper raises her hand, it is glowing with yellow energy.
Alex: What's happening?
The Doctor: Alex get away!
Alex: What's going on?!
The Doctor: She's regenerating!
The Doctor pulls Alex away, The door blows in.
Dalek 1: Time sensitive located!
Supreme Dalek: You are The Doctor! You are an enemy of The Daleks! You will be exterminated!
Harper's regeneration energy becomes more aggressive.
Alex: What do we do?!
The Doctor: We either get exterminated, or we get struck by regeneration energy.
Alex: Either way we die?
The Doctor: Yeah.
Alex: Great!
Harper's energy continues to rage on, It hits the wall & hits one of the Daleks, blowing it up.
Alex: Woah!
The Doctor: This is a TARDIS.
Alex: So?!
The Doctor: That garden, it's more than just a garden!
Alex: What?
The Doctor: We seek shelter from the Daleks in this TARDIS.
Alex: Up we get then!
Alex & The Doctor get up, The Doctor kicks the glass, it shatters, Harper's regeneration energy stops, she has changed appearance.
-Doctor!
The Doctor turns.
The Doctor: Who are you?
Kora: I am Koranandulvinda.
Alex: Heh?
Kora: Kora for short.
Supreme Dalek: The time sensitive has been located! Seek the child!
Kora: Oh I don't think so, now Alex & the other one, run.
The Doctor, Alex & Kora run.
The Doctor, Alex & Kora jump over a wall.
The Doctor: But the TARDIS, you can run though it.
Kora: That's a real garden.
The Doctor: What?
The three continue to run, a laser goes off, the three of them duck.
-That wasn't a Dalek ray.
Alex: Then what was it?
The Doctor looks up to see a group of Ogrons coming for them.
The Doctor: Ogrons.
Alex: What's on Ogron?
Kora: A species born into slavery & for the use of other supreme races.
Alex: I.E The Daleks.
The Doctor: The Daleks.
Kora: If they weren't being used as pawns in an invasion or an attack, they'd be head butting the wall.
Alex: Sounds like me on a Monday.
The Doctor looks at Alex.
Alex: Wrong Innuendo?
Kora nods.
-Noted, so how do we get away from them?
The Doctor: You want a decent answer?
Alex: Yeah.
The Doctor: Run.
The Doctor & Kora run.
Alex: No man left behind?
Alex gets up & follows them.
Outside of the house:
The Ogrons join The Daleks & they pursuit The Doctor, Alex & Kora in unison.
In an alleyway:
The Doctor: Your a Timelord?
Kora: Yes, I thought that was clear.
Alex: What's a Timelord?
Kora: I am.
Alex looks at The Doctor.
Alex: But-
The Doctor: She's the same species as me. Sort of.
The Daleks & The Ogrons have caught up with The Doctors & Alex.
Supreme Dalek: You are The Doctor! You are an enemy of the Daleks!
The Doctor: Yes. Yes I am.
Kora: What do we do?
Alex: We can't run, we're cornered.
The Doctor: Yes. Yes we are, any ideas?
Kora: We cooperate.
The Doctor: What?!
Alex: Are you mad? These things they don't look friendly.
Kora: Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Dalek 1: Tractor beam now activating!
A beam appears around The Doctor, Kora & Alex, suddenly they are in the TARDIS control room.
Alex: What?!
Kora: I materialised the TARDIS around us. Now we can hide from the Daleks in peace.
Alex: But they know We're here.
The Doctor: Well?
Kora: Ever heard of a pursuit?
Kora pulls down on the lever, the TARDIS materialises.
Alex: Woah! Doctor where are we going?
Kora: Bottom of the planet.
The TARDIS materialises, The Doctor & Alex of exit the TARDIS.
Alex: Tokyo!
The Doctor: It's beautiful isn't it?
Alex: I've always wanted to go, I've never been able to find the time.
The Doctor: Now you can tick it off.
Alex smiles.
Alex: So, that woman? Who is she?
The Doctor: I don't know.
Kora exits the TARDIS.
Kira: Tokyo! Wow.
Alex: It's beautiful isn't it?
Kora: Yeah.
The Doctor: Will the Daleks find us here?
Kora: It's hard to tell.
Alex: What do you mean?
The Doctor: She means that The Daleks can trace a ship no matter where it goes.
Alex: So either way, we ain't safe?
Kora: No. No. we're not.
Man: Robotto! Robotto! Anata no jinsei no tame ni hashiri nasai!
People begin to scream & run.
Supreme Dalek: Watashitachiha dārekudesu! Kanshō shiyou to suru to, jidōtekini kujo sa remasu.
Alex: They've found us.
Dalek 1: Tāgetto ga mitsukarimashita.
Dalek 2: Konzetsu suru.
Dalek 1: Konzetsu suru.
Alex: What are they saying?
Kora: Exterminate.
Dalek 2: Konzetsu suru.
A laser fires.
Kora: Come on!
In the TARDIS:
Kora materialises the TARDIS.
The Doctor: Where are we going?
Kora: The Big Bang.
Alex: What?
The Doctor: The dawn of time.
The TARDIS materialises, the Doctors & Alex exit the TARDIS.
Alex: It's a wasteland.
The Doctor: Not just any wasteland.
A group of monkeys appear.
Alex: Monkeys.
The Doctor: not just any Monkeys.
Alex: What?
The Doctor smiles at Alex.
Alex: Wait. They're not?
Alex gasps.
-Homo sapiens.
The Doctor nods, Alex walks over to one.
The Doctor: Crazy eh?
Alex: We've definitely evolved, aside from my exes.
Alex puts her hand near one of them.
Supreme Dalek: Exterminate!
Kora: They've found us again!
Kora runs.
Dalek 1: Find the fugitive!
The Ogrons & Daleks approach The Doctor & Alex, Alex & a Homo Sapien's hands meet, there's a huge explosion, destroying the Daleks & The Ogrons.
The Doctor: You got rid of them.
Alex: I must have.
The Doctor: Come on, let's get you home.
In Kora's TARDIS:
Alex & The Doctor are stood around the TARDIS.
Alex: Doctor?
The Doctor: No.
Alex: What?
The Doctor: I know what your gonna say. Your gonna say can I travel with you? I'll say no & you'll be disappointed.
Alex: Please. I wanna see more, how can you expect me to be put through something like this & then just carry on as normal?
The Doctor: I'm sorry but I just won't allow it.
The Doctor punches in the coordinates, she walks away.
Alex: Where are you going?
The Doctor: To get some water.
Alex stands over the controls & messes with the coordinates, she steps away, The Doctor comes back in.
The Doctor: Home for you.
The Doctor materialises the TARDIS.
On a field:
The TARDIS materialises, The Doctor & Alex step out.
The Doctor: Home! Sweet Ho-
Alex: Interesting.
The Doctor: This isn't where I met you. This is. This is. I don't know where this is.
Alex: Hm, we'd better explore then! I'll go & get a jacket & a hat, it's breezy.
Alex goes back into the TARDIS, The Doctor sighs.

NEXT TIME:
The sun goes down, The moon is now up.
A gun appears above the two of them.
The Doctor: Oh dear.
The Doctor: You've murdered her.
Nelson: It was either her or us.
Angie: Survival of the fittest.
Nelson: It's everyman for himself.
Alex shuts the door, she slowly walks into the field.
Alex screams, she hears a twig snap, she looks behind her to see a blue beast with big sharp teeth & green eyes with paws that could cause an earthquake.
