New Year's Day Special - Core Of The Daleks

The Doctor walks around the console.
The Doctor: Past, Present, Future or space.
Ace: Space.
The Doctor: Any planet in particular? The lost moon of Poosh? Thoros-Beta? Peladon?
Ace: Thoros-Beta, sounds interesting.
The Doctor: Thoros-Beta it is then.
The Doctor pulls down on the lever, The TARDIS materialises.
On Thoros-Beta:
In a cave:
Creature: The Doctor is coming.
The creature laughs.
-The Doctor shall help us! The Doctor shall save the Mentors! The Doctor will save Sil!
MONOLOGUE:
Ace: I am Dorothy McShane. I lived on an alien world after being whisked away by a time storm. I ended up in this place: Iceworld. That's where I met him. The Doctor. We would travel throughout time & space, until one day he came up with a horrid plan, a plan that would ruin our friendship. We were reunited eventually & I forgave him. I would occasionally leave the TARDIS every now & then. One day when planet Earth was in grave danger, I came back to her & we've been stronger ever since. I am Dorothy McShane & this is my story.

The TARDIS materialises on a beach, the seawater is a neon pink & the sky is an Aqua blue, Ace opens the door.
Ace: You could have landed us on the actual sand Professor.
Ace steps down & begins to walk through the water.
The Doctor: You know the TARDIS, she can never get anything right.
The TARDIS chimes.
-I know you heard that, that was the point.
Ace: You haven't changed them.
The TARDIS chimes again.
The Doctor: Now that was uncalled for.
Ace laughs.
Ace: What'd she say?
The Doctor: It's unrepeatable.
Ace: Well, this is nice.
The Doctor: Last time I was here, I lost a friend, but no thanks to the Timelords there are more than two versions of her.
Ace: Wow, any bug eyed monsters that I have to be aware of.
The Doctor: I think so.
Ace: Great, so do we go into the cave?
The Doctor: Yeah.
Ace: Last time I remember going into a cave was- I don't actually remember.
They laugh & enter the cave.
In a room:
Sil: The Doctor has arrived!
Grentho: Shall I go & bring him here?
Sil: Yes.
Grentho: Ok Master.
Grentho goes to leave.
Sil: & Grentho?
Grentho: Yes Master?
Sil: You really are the greatest assistant Grentho.
Grentho: Thank you Master.
Grentho leaves the room.
Sil: The Doctor will save us from The Daleks!
Sil laughs.
-Freedom at last.
In the cave:
Ace: You brought me to a cave that has nothing in it?
The Doctor: At least be grateful!
Ace: I am grateful!
They laugh, Grentho appears.
-Doctor, you see a man with a blue face & gills looking at us, right?
The Doctor: Yeah.
Grentho: Which one of you are Doctor?
The Doctor: I am.
Grentho: You? But you are a woman!
Ace: So?
The Doctor: & I'm proud of it.
Grentho: I see, well you are to come with me.
Ace: On who's orders?
Grentho: My Master.
The Doctor: Give us a name.
Grentho: Sil.
The Doctor: Sil?! Oh no.
Ace: Professor, what is it?
The Doctor: But-
Grentho: Sil died during the time war?
The Doctor: Yeah, as did all of the Mentors.
Grentho: All but Sil.
The Doctor: Take me to him. Now.
Grentho: Yes Doctor.
In the room:
Sil: Doctor!
Sil laughs.
Ace: Urgh what is that?
Sil: I see it's not Periwinkle or Flipflop this time or even Harry or was it Harper or Hara.
Ace: & I see the slugs in my garden got radiation poisoning.
The Doctor: Ace.
Ace: Right.
The Doctor: What do you want Sil?
Sil: I have a dilemma Doctor.
The Doctor: Go on.
Sil: You see in the Time war, Thoros-Beta was occupied.
The Doctor: Occupied?
Ace: By who?
Grentho: The D-
Sil: Grentho I am talking!
Grentho: Sorry Grentho.
Sil: The Daleks, they came in & took over Thoros-Beta.
Ace: So where does Grentho fit in?
Sil: The Daleks took the Blowfish & used them as slaves, The Daleks exterminated all of the Mentors & The Blowfish, we hid in here, The Daleks cannot detect it.
Ace: You mean? The Daleks are still here.
Sil: Yes.
The Doctor: So, what's your Dilemma?
Sil: The Daleks wanted more Daleks, so they turned the Mentors into Dalek mutants.
Ace: They'll do anything for power.
Sil: However, I have the controls, in case one day these Daleks turn on the originals & they'd need to be stopped.
Ace: I don't understand.
The Doctor: Sil has a genocide machine, with a click of a button, he can destroy an entire race.
Sil: Precisely Doctor.
The Doctor looks down.
Ace: You mean, You have the power to destroy the Daleks forever?
Sil: Yes.
Ace: Doctor.
The Doctor: No, no I can't.
Ace: Think about all those who died in The Daleks' names.
Katarina: Doctor.
Lucie: Doctor.
Tamsin: Doctor.
The Doctor: Your right.
Ace: What?
The Doctor: But I can't.
Dalek 1: (offscreen) Multiple life forms detected.
Dalek 2: (offscreen) Seek, locate, exterminate.
Sil: They've found us.
The door flies open.
Dalek 1: You will be exterminated!
The Doctor grabs the device from Sil's hand.
The Doctor: Step back or I'll destroy every Dalek in this whole entire Galaxy.
The Doctor & Ace run past the Daleks, Sil wheels himself out of the room, Grentho attempts to run.
Dalek 1: Exterminate!
Ace: Grentho!
The Dalek exterminates Grentho, he screams & falls to the floor.
The Doctor: No.
Ace: Doctor.
The Doctor looks at Ace.
-You have the choice to destroy the Daleks. A lot of them.
The Doctor: If I do it I'll be just as bad.
Ace: Think about the freedom of the universe, all those planets occupied by The Daleks.
The Doctor: It's genocide.
Ace: What about them? They blew apart planets! Ecosystems! Children! Life!
The Doctor: But.
Ace puts her hand on The Doctor's hand.
Ace: Do it.
The Doctor: What?
Ace: Save the universe.
The Doctor looks at Sil.
Sil: Yes Doctor.
The Doctor closes her eyes & presses the button, The Daleks explode.
Sil: You used it, the core of the Daleks.
Ace: Core?
Sil: It's contains the Daleks' genetic code, when you press that, it rips the genetical code into shreds, meaning that they can never be brought back into existence.
The Doctor: So all the Daleks are dead?
Ace: Like all of them?
Sil: Yes.
Ace: That's great!
The Doctor: No, no it's not.
Sil: Doctor?
Ace: Professor?
The Doctor: I've committed genocide.
Ace: So?
The Doctor: They'll come for me.
Ace: Who?
The Doctor: The Judoon.
Sil: Pass me the core Doctor.
The Doctor: What?
Sil: I will take the blame.
Ace: What?
Sil: I've done enough crime in this galaxy, it's about time I pay up.
The Doctor: Are you sure?
Sil: Yes Doctor.
The Doctor smiles at Sil.
Ace: Come on Professor.
The Doctor & Ace leave the TARDIS as a Judoon ship comes lands on Thoros-Beta.
On Earth:
The TARDIS materialises, The Doctor & Ace step out.
Ace: Professor?
The Doctor: Yeah?
Ace: I'm gonna go, I need to make things up with Alan.
The Doctor: Alright, I'll see you around, yeah?
Ace: Yeah.
She smiles & walks away.
A woman is watching The Doctor.
Ortiz: I've found her boss, do you want me to get her now?
Slight pause.
-Ok, I understand.

The Doctor: She's regenerating!
Nelson points his gun up at Alex, she screams.
Alex: Doctor!
The Doctor: Nelson, put the gun down.
Nelson: Get out before I throw you out.
The Doctor smiles at Alex.
Alex: Wait. They're not?
Alex gasps.
-Homo sapiens.
The Doctor: Alex, welcome to new earth.
Alex: New Earth?
The Doctor: New London.
Dalek 1: Time sensitive located!
Supreme Dalek: You are The Doctor! You are an enemy of The Daleks! You will be exterminated!
The Doctor: You want to cleanse new Earth of what you would refer to as minorities, Am I right?
Professor Kahn takes his glasses off & turns around holding a gun at The Doctor.
Professor Kahn: 100 percent correct.
He laughs.
The Doctor: What's so funny?
Professor Kahn: As we speak, Your little friend, Alex is heading for the Sun!
Rhubarb: Everything ok, Master?
The Master: Why yes my dear Rani.
The Doctor turns around.
An explosion goes of, The Doctor appears, there is nothing but darkness around her.

The Doctor will return in Winter 2023 in 'The Child'.
