The Doctor: Stop it! Stop! You're gonna destroy time!
The Doctor screams.
-My mind! My memories! They're all over the place! I can't think! I can remember things that never happened! Alternate possibilities! Time is broken! It's dead! Time is dead!
Her eyes widen.
-And I can feel it!
The Wanderer appears.
The Wanderer: & so my grand plan has come.
The Doctor: Who are you?!
The Wanderer: I am your future.
The Doctor: A future incarnation?!
The Wanderer: Yes.
The Doctor: The curator?
The Wanderer suddenly forms into The Valeyard
The Valeyard: The Valeyard.
The Doctor: No.
The Valeyard: Yes... and the laws of time belong to me now.
NOW:
Twin Size Mattress by The Front Bottoms plays.
In the TARDIS:
The Doctor pulls a lever.
On Earth:
The TARDIS materialises, Alex runs out & hugs Rick.
Alex: I've missed you so much.
Rick: Are you ok?!
Alex: Yeah.
The Doctor: I'll be off.
Alex: Ok.
The Doctor enters the TARDIS, it dematerialises.
-Doctor! Wait!
The TARDIS dematerialises.
In the TARDIS;
The Doctor: I need to fix this.
Suddenly an alarm blares.
-Time distortion in Malaga... it's started!
On earth:
The TARDIS materialises.
-Hi! Only me! I need some help... some friends.
Alex: Alien invasion?
The Doctor: Fallout of The Valeyard.
Alex: Time needs to be saved.
Rick: You're not gonna go with him... are you?
Alex: She needs someone.
Rick: & it doesn't need to be you!
Alex: Please.
Rick: If you stay on this path... you will end up dead.
Alex: I'll be fine.
Alex runs into the TARDIS, it dematerialises.
In the TARDIS.
-What is it?!
The Doctor: I don't know! Let's found out!

In a volcano:
The TARDIS materialises, The Doctor & Alex step out.
Alex: Where are we?
The Doctor: A volcano in Malaga.
Alex: Spain!
Alex exhales.
-Blimey it's hot.
The Doctor: 35 degrees!
Alex: No kidding. So... what'a so important?
The Doctor: The time distortion The Valeyard caused, I've traced it here.
Alex: So where is it?
The Doctor: Inside the volcano.
Alex: So do you think it's him?
The Doctor: After how things ended-
Cordelia: It's gonna blow!
The Valeyard: It can't!
Alex: Stop it!
The Valeyard: Oh do stop your whining.
The Valeyard holds his hand up, a bolt of purple energy flashes at Alex, a cracking sound is heard.
The Doctor: No!
Cordelia: It's gonna take us all!
Sil: Fiddlesticks!
The Doctor: Turn it off!
The Valeyard waves his hand at The Doctor, the bolts come loose, The Doctor falls from the wall & lands on the ground.
-Phew!
She turns to the machine.
-No!
Sil: Oh sh-
The machine explodes flooding the room with white light.
The Doctor: It has to be him, hang on.
Alex: Stop it!
The Valeyard: Oh do stop your whining.
The Valeyard holds his hand up, a bolt of purple energy flashes at Alex, a cracking sound is heard.
Alex: So... we going inside or what?
The Doctor: Um... yeah.
Alex: So... did you do much whilst I was gone?
The Doctor: No... I came straight back after we left.
Alex: Oh... I thought you might've made some new friends & fought in a Dalek civil war by now.
She laughs.
The Doctor: No.
She smiles.
The Doctor: Right then! We going in?
Alex: Sod it.
In the volcano:
The Doctor: Oh.
Alex: Did we materialise inside of Satan's crotch?!
The Doctor laughs.
The Doctor: Not quite.
Alex: Is that a jukebox?
The Doctor: What?
Alex: A jukebox with... a canon attached?
The Doctor: Oh no.
Alex: What? What is it? Not a jukebox with a canon attached?
The Doctor: No.
Alex: No time like the present...
The Doctor: Krotons.
Alex: Krotons?
The Doctor: I've faced them several times before, but what do they want with a Spanish volcano?!
Alex: Maybe it's just... my minds drawn a blank.
The Doctor: Krotons!
Alex: Doctor!
The Krotons turn to face The Doctor.
Kroton 1: You are The Doctor!
The Doctor: Yes! We've met before!
Kroton 1: We know!
The Doctor: I demand that you tell me what your presence here is!
Kroton 1: We are mining solidified molten rock!
The Doctor: Why? What for?
Kroton 1: For money.
The Doctor: Oh... now that is weird.
Alex: So they're here under peaceful pretences?
The Doctor: Apparently.
Alex: So we can just go?
The Doctor: No.
Alex rolls her eyes.
Alex: Why?
The Doctor: Because I don't believe them.
Alex: But what if they are here for good reason? What if you do something that you regret or you go too far?
The Doctor: But it doesn't explain the time distortion... The Krotons' presence wouldn't have caused that, it would have to be a Timelord.
Alex: The Master?
The Doctor: Possibly. Or The Rani or The N-
Alex looks down.
Alex: The Nun.
The Doctor: If it is her, I need you to be brave, ok? I know you're terrified of her & you are petrified that she'll come for you again, but I will not let that happen, ok?
Alex nods.
-You're with me, your safe.
Alex: But am I?
The Doctor: Yeah.
Alex: Right.
The Doctor: What?
Alex: It's alright saying that & mollycoddling me but it's not gonna do anything! It's not gonna stop anything!
The Doctor: Alex.
Alex: No! It didn't stop The Nun! It didn't stop Kora! It didn't stop The Cybermen! It didn't stop The Zygons! It didn't stop Sil! It didn't stop The Valeyard from murdering me!
The Doctor: The Valeyard killed you?
A white light flashes.
The Valeyard waves his hand at The Doctor, the bolts come loose, The Doctor falls from the wall & lands on the ground.
-Phew!
She turns to the machine.
-No!
Sil: Oh sh-
The machine explodes flooding the room with white light.
The Doctor: Temporal energy! I can feel it!
The Doctor sees Alex's body on the floor.
-What did you do to her?!
The Valeyard: I simply snapped her neck.
The Doctor: You killed her!
The Valeyard: Needs must!
The Doctor: Why?!
The room completely collapses.
In the TARDIS:
Alex: What the hell?!
The Doctor: The temporal energy spilled out from the orb, it must've reset time.
The Doctor looks down.
Alex: I don't want to remember what just happened.
The Doctor: You want me to wipe your memory of The Valeyard?
Alex: Yes.
The Doctor puts her hands on Alex's head, Alex's eyes flash white before returning back to normal.
The Doctor: Right! Where were we? Oh yes! I was gonna bring you back to Earth & show Rick that you're safe!
The Doctor pulls a lever.
On Earth:
The TARDIS materialises, Alex runs out & hugs Rick.
Alex: I've missed you so much.
A white light flashes.
The Doctor: I must've wiped my memory too.
Alex: But how do we remember it?
The Doctor: Said Timelord must be covered in temporal energy, meaning that the mindwipe was reversed meaning-
Alex: Said Timelord is The Valeyard.
The Valeyard: Correct!
Alex stands back.
The Doctor: What do you want?
The Valeyard: It was all a trap, Doctor.
Alex: You've been playing the long game with us! The nuclear power plant! The portal in the middle of the sea!
The Valeyard: I led you here! Everything has come down to this very moment.
Alex: Your sick!
The Valeyard puts his hand up & makes a fist, Alex begins to choke.
The Doctor: Alex! Let her go! I am warning you! Do not hurt her!
The Valeyard: Do not make me snap your neck again, girl.
He releases her, she falls & gasps for air.
The Doctor: Alex, you got your TARDIS key?
Alex: Y-yeah, why?
The Doctor: Go back to the TARDIS & if I'm not back within an hour, punch in the coordinates for Earth, there's a book under the console that has coordinates in it, use them to land near UNIT & then activate the HADS.
Alex: What?! Why?!
The Doctor: This is a fight to the death.
Alex: What?
The Doctor: The Valeyard has gone too far. It ends now.
Alex: I'm not leaving you!
The Doctor: You have to go!
Alex: No!
The Doctor: Go!
Alex: What am I supposed to do?! I can't just give this up! What I have is amazing!
The Doctor: Just go!
Alex: What if I don't activate the HADS?
The Doctor: Alex.
Alex: I could go off on my own adventures, go to Skaro, go back to the power station & save Quira from death.
The Doctor: But you won't.
Alex: How do you know I won't?
The Doctor: Because you're not stupid. Now, go.
Alex: I'm not saying goodbye.
The Doctor: Ok.
Alex walks away.
-Right, let's do this.
Kroton 1: Alert! Faulty drill has triggered a powerful force.
The Doctor: Volcanic eruption. You idiot!
The Valeyard: If anyone's the idiot here, Doctor. It's you.
The Doctor: Why don't you just die?!
The Valeyard: The day I die, so will you.
The Doctor: Yeah well keep wishing. I will never die.
The Valeyard: Is that so?
The Doctor: Yeah.
The Valeyard smiles.
Kroton 1: Volcanic eruption imminent!
The Valeyard: Oh no.
The Doctor pushes The Valeyard down.
The Doctor: You will never be me!
In the clearing:
Alex: Come on, Doctor. Come on.
Suddenly the ground shakes as an orange puff of smoke comes out of the top of the volcano.
-No. No!
She screams.
-Doctor!
She cries.
-You can't be. She can't be!
Lava begins to stream down the volcano.
-No! No! She can't be!
Alex looks down.
-She's dead.
She goes into the TARDIS.
In the TARDIS:
-Time to bring me home. HADS... where are they?
The TARDIS chimes.
-What? What are you trying to tell me?! TARDIS! Tell me!
She kicks the console.
-Tell me.
She cries.
-Just bloody tell me!
The doors open, a woman stands in the doorway.
Woman: Alex. It's ok.
Alex: Who are you?
The Doctor: I'm The Doctor.
Alex: You look so different.
The Doctor: Good different?

Luke: It's not The Doctor or Harry is it?
Sarah-Jane: I think it's The Doctor.
Luke: I'm so sorry.
Sarah-Jane: The Doctor's Dead.
Luke hugs her.
