I glared with resentment and hate towards Eliz. Stupid girl. This never would have happened if she never came to my kingdom. My school. Dew wouldn't have found his soulmate and she wouldn't have defended him. She wouldn't have went to the underworld. Dew wouldn't have to die now in this battle. Because Lukas can't die. I will make sure he doesn't.

I turned to Ryan. "Do you really want your brother to die?"

"No, but if Dew dies, Eliz will too."

"And you don't want her to?" I want her to, I wanted to add, but I knew he wouldn't be very kind to me afterwards.

He put a hand on my shoulder. "You know she's my friend. She's your friend. Come on. We have to keep Dew alive. For Eliz." Lukas turned, his eyes locking with Ryan's. For a second, his eyes were hopeful, until Ryan told him with his eyes. He nodded once, understanding, and walked up to Eliz.

Ryan wasn't going to root for me. He didn't want Dew to die. He was going to let his brother die. For a freak, I thought bitterly.

A sudden thought overcame me. If I was going to die, I needed to do this first. I walked over to Eliz. She was talking to Dew. I never hated him so much. I wanted her first! I wanted to scream at him.

I tapped her on the shoulder. She turned, her mouth already moving in greeting. She froze when she saw it was me. Dew growled, but stayed away. Eliz nodded at him.

"Yes?" Her soft voice sent tingles up my back. I ignored her question and grabbed her around the waist, pulling her to me. She gasped. "Lukas! What are you-" I smothered her question with a kiss. Her soft lips were open in protest, making it easy for me to-

She was ripped from my grasp. Dew stared me in the face, his fists balled. I glared back.

"It was just gettin good man!" I yelled, my eyes dark with anger. A fist connected with my jaw, but I was too angry to feel it.

"If it was good she would've kissed ya back!" I flinched. He knew where to hit, where it hurt. Each word he spat out with venom, his fists hitting me on each one.

"And let round one begin!" Someone yelled. Dew picked me up by the neck, squeezing hard enough to cause bruises, so we were face to face.

"She's mine. You hear me? I don't share. I'm not sharing that perfect girl with someone like you. Or anyone. Do you hear me? Understood?" He waited until I nodded before letting me drop to my knees.

"I see I've taught you well," I whispered just loud enough for him to hear. "But you must have not listened to one lesson. Never drop your opponent. That's giving them an advantage over you."

Dew sneered at me. He did a spin-around kick, to my throat. That would've hurt if I hadn't grabbed his foot before it touched me and twisted it hard. He yelped in pain and fell next to me. Eliz screamed as I lunged onto him, cupping my hands around his neck. I flinched. She didn't scream when he was holding me by the neck.

For a moment, all I saw was red. I squeezed his neck hard, my fingers rock against his skin. I wanted to bruise him. I wanted to kill him.

"Dew!" Someone screamed, but this time it wasn't Eliz. I glanced up. His sister, Bay, glared at me.

In my distraction, Dew had managed to slip from my grasp. He rolled, and I was on the bottom. He sat on me.

"Come on. Make this interesting. He kissed your girl. Do something. This is boring me," Hades yelled. Dew's eyes filled with rage at the reminder. He punched me in the nose, causing blood to run down my face.

"Let's get on with it!" Aries, the God of war, yelled. "Blood and violence! Just the way I like it!"

I grabbed Dew's fist and twisted. A loud Snap! echoed through the arena. I had broken his dominant hand. He flinched in pain, but being a ninja, we had been beaten and tormented until we had a high pain tolerance.

He raised his left fist and I flinched. I could sense the rage coming off him in layers. Dew pulled me up by my collar, choking me, and threw me. I hit the dirt hard. I let out a cry of pain. He stormed over to me. He picked me up again, this time holding me to his face.

"You're going to regret kissing her," he hissed. Before I could process his words, I was facedown in the dirt. He had flipped me over his shoulder. His boot crunched down on my shoulder blades. He kicked my ribs, until he had broken them all.

I groaned in pain, before grabbing his foot and pulling it. He let out a yelp of surprise before landing on my back. Okay, so that wasn't the smartest idea, I thought as he crushed me.

"Ugh! How much do you weigh? A ton?!" I yelled, trying to push him off.

"Less than you," Dew said, calmly standing.

"Oooooooh, burn!" Someone from the crowd yelled.

"He roasted ya!" Another ninja yelled, giggling. I rolled my eyes and started to get up. Dew put his boot on my back.

"50 push-ups," he hissed. I twisted under his foot, trying to get free. I groaned before doing the push-ups hurriedly. He pushed his foot down hard, trapping me to the dirt ground.

"Whenever you're ready to admit Dew is the winner..." Hades yelled. "Get on with it! Or I'll take all three of your souls back to the Underworld!"

I froze. He can't have Eliz. Dew must've had the same thought because he crutched down next to me and said, "Admit it before he takes Eliz again. You know what he did to her last time."

"Dew is the winner of this round," I yelled. Eliz grinned and ran into the arena. She bounced as she ran, not noticing my stare.

"Dew, since you won, you get first choice of weapons in the second round." She planted a kiss on his cheek before moving towards me. At first I was hoping she would kiss me too, but then she did something else.

She punched me in my already broken nose. "Ow!" I screeched, cupping it. More blood poured out of my nose.

"That's for kissing me when you know I have a boyfriend!" She stomped on my foot hard. "And that's for kissing me in front of my boyfriend! You jerkwad!"

She stomped away angrily. Dew grinned after her, before jogging to catch up with her. I was left alone to my own thoughts. Or so I thought.

I watched the little interaction between Eliz and Lukas. My stomach clenched with jealousy. He still loved her even though she loved Dew. Even though she had just stomped on his heart.

He can't love her if she's dead, I thought.
