i hate math.
nobody understands why i pull out my phone
to use my calculator app
even for easy equations that i learned to solve in middle school
i was always good at math
always got an A in algebra and calculus and geometry
took honors and advanced placement and did well
when i turned fourteen
numbers were all i could think about
but i did too much mental math over the span of the those four years
and now i can't look at a plated sandwich or a bowl of ice cream or even the three baby carrots i dropped on the floor without my mind spinning
adding and adding and adding until i want to vomit
so i don't do math anymore
i let my calculator app handle it
because those numbers in my head reek of death
and i really hate that.
