running has never hurt me.
my shinbones are deformed,
the ligaments in my knee are torn,
my hips are near-fused,
my muscles are aching,
my heart beats too slow and then too fast,
my head will pound forever
just like my blistered feet on the pavement but
running has never hurt me.
