tw: homesickness, the midwest lol

i've heard it too many times to count

echoing in the rusted steel mills and run-down high schools

i'll get out of here soon, they say

get out of this little farm town

get out of this little big city

get out of this glacier-flattened state

go to the east coast or the west

to see the mountains and the masses

to find yourself and make something of your life before it's over

god, i miss it like no other

and i know that it's strange

wanting nothing more than to go back to the place where most people dream of escape
