why can't i call you that? why can't i just love you in that way?
because it's not love
it's a group of boys haggling me on my daily run
it's a middle-aged customer flirting with me at my high school job
it's my teacher telling me i'm stupid in a roundabout sort of way
it's every man's condescending tone
sweetheart means inequality, insecurity, danger
and i can't stand anyone thinking of me like that
most of all the girl i love
