Chapter 26 - Boundary Concluded

I was jolted awake by the feeling of water dropplets falling onto my face. Really? Can't I enjoy my sleeping for once in a place like this? I rubbed my eyes in an effort to get rid of the sleep. Then I took a look around. I couldn't see anyone, and for some reason, I felt wary of something.

"Tsubasa? Shirokane-san?" I call out, but all I get back is the sound of the wind.

No way. They couldn't have left me here alone, could they? No, they wouldn't. But where could they possibly be? I don't like this feeling, it's giving me the chills. Even though I don't see anyone, I still feel the presence of someone. Yet, it's the kind of presence that gives you goosebumps.

I stand up and decide that just staying here will not lead me to find anybody. I need to look around, and hope that the feeling I am having is only part of my imagination. I may be thinking too much about it and that caused me to feel the way I did.

As I walked around I could feel as if I had a pair of eyes on me. I don't know what to think anymore. Whether to pass it off as still part of my imagination, or face it and figure out what to do. Probably the safest would be the latter.

As soon as I made up my mind, the little droplets that had been falling became a heavy rain. It took only a matter of seconds for me to get fully drenched. Along with the rain also came the sound of footsteps closely approaching.

I turned quickly and was confused by what I saw. It wasn't exactly a person, more like a shape of a person. Like a silhouette. It didn't look like something that would cause fear, but for some reason, I wanted to run away as far as I could from it.

"W-who are you?" my voice trembled.

It opened its mouth as if to speak, but nothing came out. I gasped when I saw the inside of its mouth. It was dark and endless. A pitch of hidden mysteries that nobody would ever dare to wonder beyond to discover whatever secrets it held.

Next were its eyes. A swirl of colors hiding untold stories that no one would find pleasant finding out. It was all very ominious, yet I couldn't stop staring. I wanted to know more. See what else it seemed capable of.

Call me crazy, but I just knew that there was something I had to do for this silhouette-like creature thing. And going by that, I began to walk closer to it, raising my hand when I got close enough. I still felt scared by it, of course, but my curiosity overran my fear.

It allowed me to get close and even reached its own hand out. "There is something that you want to tell me." I say softly. I finally end up touching it, and oddly, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. "What are you?"

That wasn't able to last long, because it soon lashed out. I jumped out of the way before it was able to do any harm to me. I don't understand what's going on? Why the sudden change of behavior?

"Woah, calm down! I'm not going to do anything to you." I raise my hands up to show that I am not a threat.

That didn't work. The roar it let out had the ground shaking and almost made it hard for me to keep my footing.

"Okay! I don't know what I did, but I see that you're not a fan of keeping things nice." fog was beginning to cover our surroundings as I spoke.

This would be a really good time for one of my so-called 'pals' to show up.

I sigh in defeat. Nobody is going to show up. For some reason, I have been abandoned. That only leaves me to figure out what to do with this creepy, bipolar, human-shaped freak. Not to mention that its hands had this weird curling thing going on.
