Chapter 18 - Knight in Shining Armor
"Shiro...kane...sa..n"
"Calling out for help is a futile effort. No one will come to your aid. We are hidden far from any human ears. Worry not though, I will not kill you." the man said all the while looking into my eyes.
I was feeling light headed and my breathing came out in wheezes. Black spots were beginning to form in my vision as I tried looking at him. I was slipping out of it.
"You are worth much more." he whispers into my ear before dropping me to the floor.
I felt weak, helpless, as I struggled to regain my breathing. I took big gulps of air, filling up my lungs as much as I could. The cool floor resting against my cheeks was all I could focus on at the moment. Slowly, I was regaining all my senses and I could feel him looming over me, waiting, watching.
"I thought you were only ordinary. A simple woman from a land across the sea. Never did I think you would possess such a thing as power." he spoke. "I could use you."
"Ne..ver.." I croaked. I could only imagine what he would want me to do if he were to use me, but I didn't understand why. What did I do?
"What other abilities do you possess besides being able to summon fire through your hands?" he asked.
I gave him a confused look. I had absolutely no idea what he meant by that. Fire through my hands? When did I summon fire through my hands? Even though I really wanted to burn off his precious jewels, how would I even be able to do that when I know nothing about summoning fire in the first place?
"It is too late for you to act innocent. You have already burned right through my clothing. The proof is in my back, see?" he turned and I noticed he had a gaping hole, on the inside, his skin was pink, almost red. Did I really do that?
"So as you can see," he turned back to look at me, "I can no longer sell you as I had planned. You will serve a much greater purpose to me. Very few people out there are gifted, and even fewer are willing to help me." he explained, as if I would even care.
"Well, joke's on you. I have no idea how in the world I even did that. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me. So, in other words, it would be as if you are sending a baby out to fight an army of overgrown, hairy, muscular men. Get me?" I try to reason. I was at least able to talk normally.
"Ah, yes, but, even a baby grows with time." he smirks. "Meanwhile, others can take its place as the gem takes its time to earn more value."
I really don't like this guy.
"I won't help you. Never. Not even if you threaten me. Do what ever you want to do to me, but I will never cooperate with such a person as you."
"We'll see about that." he says, then he grabs me and throws me over his shoulder once again. "Let's see how you fare in our dungeon."
Dungeon? There's a dungeon in this kind of place? Haha...dungeons are never a good thing...

Natsume's POV
Where could she possibly be? Tsubasa had no idea, he said that he lost her after she was knocked out unconscious. The reason he lost her though, is what caught me off guard, the man that had knocked her unconscious disappeared into thin air after he grabbed her. After that, Tsubasa came to me and told me what had happened.
That was around midday, now the sun is beginning to set. I spent the whole day looking for her, trying to find clues as to where she could have been taken, but all that has bore fruitless. There is not even a single trace, it is as if she was taken by ghosts.
