Chapter 13 - Embarking on the Journey
I hate this! I am tired, and I'm sweaty and sticky. I can't stand this anymore! I want to run away and hide forever if it means that I can escape all this torture. I don't even know why I have to do this.
"Shirokane-saaaaan! Can I stop now?" I complain.
He has been making me train ever since he found out that we were going to have to go on a journey; to which who knows what may have in store for us. He thought I was too weak and needed some kind of self-defence training in case we countered some kind of trouble. So if I needed self-defence training, why do I have to run up and down the mountain, climb trees, differentiate plants, and even cook food?
"Suck it up. You'll never have a chance with the way you are." he snaps back.
"For your information I have knowledge in kendo." I say in hope that he would tone it down a bit.
"Good to know. Now, after this, you have to learn the basics of the art of suduction."
I stop abruptly, glad to be at the base of the mountain, "What?" I ask.
"Next will be the basics of the art of suduction." he repeats.
"No, I know. What I mean is, why do I have to learn that?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Well, you never know when it might come in handy." he shrugs.
"I have been putting up with this training. So far, I feel like it hasn't even been helpful, just a waste of time. You don't really teach me how to defend myself, more like how to escape. And now you want me to learn how to be a slut? Someone who uses their body. You want me to use my body instead of defending myself?!" I began to raise my voice. "You're a pig! How did I end up getting stuck with you?"
"If you do not want to learn it, then that is fine, but who knows when you might have to use it."
I scoff, "I think I can manage," then walked off.
I don't even know why I thought I would have been okay being with him. He is no help at all. I told him of what we had to do in order for me to go home. Of course I didn't tell him all of my story, like how I am from the future, but I told him enough for him to undertand how important it is to me. Yet, all he has done was make me run around and do worthless things.
"Tsubasa!" I call out.
He appears out of nowhere, like always, "You called?"
"Obviously," I roll my eyes. "I want to leave."
"Leave?"
"Yes, I can't stay here any longer. Shirokane-san doesn't even help me, and I am also pretty confident in my kendo skills--only problem is that I don't have a sword." I explain.
"You can't leave."
I laugh, "Oh, yes I can. Now, watch me." I began to walk towards the gate.
"Okay, physically, you can, but you shouldn't. You need to stay here and leave with him." Tsubasa tries to reason.
"Yeah? And when will that be? I can't just keep spending time! What if everyone back home is wondering where I am? I need to go back as soon as possible."
"Okay, then. Let us leave." I hear Shirokane-san's voice from behind.
I turn to meet his eyes, "Don't mind me, I can do with myself." then turn and continue walking away.
I felt a hand on my arm which caused me to stop walking, "Wait here, if you want to go already then we will go, but I have to tell the hokage first." Shirokane-san tells me. I kept my face looking forward. "Please." he pleads.
I bite the inside of my cheek, "Fine," I sigh.
He then ran off and was gone in the blink of an eye. I will never understand how that is even humanly possible.
"Why do I need him again?" I ask Tsubasa.
He shrugs, "He is your protector."
"Once again; I don't need someone to protect me. I am very much capable of doing that myself."
"Maybe, but he knows more about the dangers around here than you do."
"Th-that...is true. The demon was an example of that." I look away.
"I see that you are capable of acknowledging when you are at a disadvantage."
"Well, I'm not stupid, I just don't like feeling weak."
"And there is nothing wrong with that, it just shows how strong you are."
"You think?" He nods.
Without any warning, I felt a hand on my shoulder, and jumped from the fright letting out a tiny screech.
"We can go now," Shirokane-san says, chuckling from my reaction.
"Yes, ha ha, that was very funny. You really need to stop sneaking up on me. Let's go then."
"So where are we going?"
"I don't know, Tsubasa is the one that knows," I nod towards Tsubasa.
He looks at him awaiting an answer, "All I now is that we must go South first."
"Why South?" I ask.
"I don't know," he shrugs. "That was all I was told."
"So to the South we go," I say and walk on until we are finally out of the gates. I continue walking for a while until it dawns on me that I have absolutely no idea where I am; much less of where I should go.
I stop and turn around, "So... which way is it?"
Shirokane-san smiles and walks on ahead of me, "Follow me."
I cross my arms, "You could have just told me," and began to follow him.
We walked until we made it to the village, where Shirokane-san ended up going inside one of the buldings and came out with supplies and tools. He then continued walking until we were out of the village.
I can't believe we were finally doing this! I just hope nothing bad will happen. Other than that, I am really excited.
