Chapter 24 - Convincing the Emperor's Son

"What are we going to do about him? Tsubasa says that he cannot be manipulated easily, so for now, he has made him unconscious." I looked towards Shirokane-san.

It was obvious that the Emperor's son could see Tsubasa, which was either a good thing, or a very bad thing. We aren't sure which yet. It is still unknown what role he plays into all of this. The plan was to stay with the Emperor for a while until we knew for sure what was going to happen next.

Actually, I'm not really sure what Tsubasa had in mind. But it for sure wasn't this. Neither he or the fairies knew what it meant. So while Ichirou-san lay inside Shirokane-san's room, Tsubasa was trying to figure something out.

"I think that we should worry about what to do if it becomes known that he isn't in his room," Shirokane-san says. "It will not do us any good being labelled as kidnappers."

"I didn't even think of that!" I gasp. "You are completely right. We would get in so much trouble if they think we kidnapped him. Great, this is only going from bad to worst."

"Do not fret. If anything does happen, I have already thought ahead."

I stop and look at him in awe and disbelief. This guy never ceases to amaze me. Of course he would have already thought about those circumstances. Don't shinobi have to be ready for anything?

"You are always fully prepared for anything, aren't you?"

"Not really. What we are prepared for is to think fast in any kind of situation. Life waits for no one to ponder on what they want to do next." Shirokane-san explains.

I nod my head. That's some real deep meaning he just said. Kind of makes me think on what I have been doing with my life. I guess we have become too dependant on other things in the future, that we hardly think for ourselves. Kind of sad, really.

"It is unkown as to why the Emperor's son is like this." Tsubasa suddenly shows up. "He could become the enemy, that is for sure, but for now, he is not. It will be wise if we can get him on our side."

"Okay. Then, how long will he remain the way he is?" I ask Tsubasa.

"He should be awake in about half an hour."

That means that in half an hour, we will have to try our best to convince him that we aren't the bad guys.

"How do you think we will be able to convince him, Shirokane-san?" I turn my head to look at him.

"From what you have told me, he believes you to be a handler of black magic. It will not be an easy feat to get him to trust us. We will also have to be careful in that he will not call for help during the while we try to convince him."

"Okay, then, I will leave everything to you. You can explain everything to him, and when it is safe that he won't do anything to get us in trouble, then at that time, I will make my appearance. Yeah, or yeah? I think that's a pretty good plan." I say.

Shirokane-san gives me a lopsided smile. I forgot how attractive guys can be with that kind of smile. For a second I thought I wasn't going to be able to breath once he showed it. It is, hands down, the best kind of smile a guy can ever make.

"If you say so." he shrugs. "You probably would not even be able to convince a baby if your life depended on it. I agree that it is better for me to do this task."

What? I look at him shocked. I can't believe he actually said that! Sure there are some things that I am not good at, but that doesn't mean that he has to put it in that way. That's not nice at all! Ugh, it's annoying that he makes me feel things that I haven't felt before. But I will not be falling for him. Like, ever.
