For Fig

Making my way out of the common room, through the halls of the castle.

I pause.

I take a deep breath and head down to the repository.

I'm not why, I haven't been back here since Fig.....

But for some reason I'm my gut, I need to make sure the magic Isadora was storing is still intact and good.

I take the floo powder and open the door to the map chamber. The stairs leading down to the ancient magic chamber is still there surprisingly.

I notice Percival Rackham standing in his portrait.

"Sir?" I say quickly not even realizing I'm speaking until the words are already out of my mouth.

"Ah, you have returned. I heard you defeated Ranrok. Bravo Child. However, all of those teachers know about your..... ablility....." he says with disapproval.

"You still believe that no one should know about ancient magic?" I say with disbelief.

"It was part of our rule."

"You're rule... you're rule would of got me killed! In fact, it pretty much killed Fig! If you wouldn't of had that stupid rule, Fig would probably still be alive!" I shout out the stupid Portrait. I don't know why I'm even talking to him.

"And you would have the whole world know?"

"As a matter a fact, I know more about ancient magic then you could even comprehend. I have done research and explored. I can use my ancient magic to my full capacity and understand exactly how it works. I've done more than my fair share. You just learned how to control it, I learned how to wield it to its full use. You're pathetic." I say with Anger and spite, venom spewing out of my mouth with every word.

"How dare you." He says with disgust. "I bet you took Isadora magic....."

"Like it would really matter if I did." I say turning my back to him and walking down the stairs.

"It would ruin you. Turn you into the darkest of witches."

"You have no idea what it can do! You just speculate! Isadora was just trying to help! The least you could of done was help her figure out something, maybe you should of researched more into the ancient magic too. How can you watch as someone you love suffers????" I shout at him again.

"Isadora had no right doing what she did. She took away there souls like a dementor...."

"That's not true and you know it." I say making my way down the stairs.

"If you take that magic you'll regret it for the rest of your life." He shouts at me as Im halfway down the stairs.

I descend down the stairs, making my way through the cave and memories fill my mind as I walk through.

I finally make it to the doors with the knights. I take out my other wand, and calm the knights as the door opens.

I take a deep breath.

There is it.....

It looks exactly the same from when I contained it 2 years ago....

I'm relieved to see it's here, untouched.

As I look around the room, I kneel in the spot where Fig had collapsed.

I cry.

No I scream.

It's just not fair. First Fig, then my parents, and my ..... my brother.....

Oh Andrew...

I'm so sorry.

I didn't save you.

I could of saved you.

Just like I could of saved Fig

Or

Mum

Or

Dad.....

I feel my chest tighten up.

I can't catch my breath.

I feel like I'm gasping for air....

When I feel arms wrap around me and a deep voice that is bringing me back.

"Shhhh, Athena it's okay." He says pulling me into his chest.

"Om... Ominis..." I say with a broken breath.

"It's alright. Your okay." He says stroking my hair and back.

"Wha... what... how?" I say completely confused.

"I sensed something was off, so I followed you. Anne is waiting upstairs... Athena are you alright? Why are you down here?" Ominis says with concern.

"I don't know Ominis... I just... I needed to make sure I didn't fail. I didn't fail Fig. He wanted me to guard this with my life. I've been so distracted that I didn't check on it last year... I just needed to make sure it was still... well... here?" I say with a huff.

Ominis took a deep breath in "This doesn't have to all fall on you.... I heard how that keeper was talking to you.... He was wrong... you are doing all you can to protect everyone. That shouldn't fall on a 17 year old shoulders. You are a strong, intelligent, and sincere... those portraits have no idea who you are."

"Ominis.. thank you." I say wiping the tears away from my eyes and sniffling.

"Your also having my best friends kids so your probably feeling emotions a little more at the moments, but... that's alright, actually let's pretend like I didn't just say that."

I shove him playfully as I give a loud laugh.

"Your the worst, Ominis." I say laughing and smiling at him.

"Yeah, I'm a git. For some reason you all to choose to keep me around too." He says with a chuckle.

"Your the worst, best, git around here."

"The worst, best, git. Boy please don't flatter me. It's not suiting." He reaches out for my hand and pulls me up. Pulling me into a tight bear hug one last time.
"Don't feel like you need to do this alone. All of us are here for you. In fact, I think we should really asked the teachers for help."

"I've already asked Sharp and Weasley to watch of this for me... awhile ago actually... I just haven't had time to give them this..." I say handing Ominis the wand made to open the two huge doors.

"I have an idea...." Ominis says taking my hand.

"This is a light magic, it doesn't do much. However, it looks pretty..." Ominis says with a smile.

"Wait how would you know it looks pretty?" I say with a laugh.

"Anne's told me, but when I cast it... it feels... good?" He says raising his arm.

His wand creates a beautiful white magic, creating whispers of streaks reminding me of snow, but it's light.

Ominis runs around the room with his light magic, creating a beautiful canvas around Isadoras magic. Making it look less gloomy, and more artistic and more lively.

I'm speechless.

I stand there with my mouth open, watching Ominis turn this place into a beautiful piece of art.

Once Ominis is finish I grab his hand. "Thank you." I say in a whisper looking at the magic that will stay in here for a very long time.

"This place deserves a little light magic... for Professor Fig."

"Cheers. To Professor Fig."
