Patronus Charm

"Now Class! Please open your books up to page 394, we will be learning about the  Patronus Charm. Can anyone tell me about the Patronus Charm?" Professor Hecat says coming from her office.

Amit raises his hands immediately and says "The spell is one of the most powerful defense charms, particularly against Dementors."

"Ten points to Ravenclaw." She says smiling at him happily.

I look to my left and catch eyes with Natty. I roll my eyes all the way to the back of my head and Natty giggles.

"Your Patronus will be one of the power defense spells you will learn. Hopefully you shall never have to use it. However, if you find yourself in close quarters with a dementor, you should be able to defend yourself.

However, only one person has ever survived to see a Lethifold. Can anyone tell me what a Lethifold is?"

Amit's hand shoots up, and we all expect Professor Hecat to call on him "yes Ms.Onai."

"The Lethifold (also known as the Living Shroud) is a carnivorous, and extremely dangerous magical beast. It is also considered a Dark creature because of its extremely aggressive and violent nature.

The Lethifold resembled a black cloak roughly half an inch thick, and appeared slightly thicker if the creature had recently digested a victim. It glided along surfaces in an unknown form of locomotion in search of its prey, humans. It attacked at night, when the target was asleep, by suffocating and then digesting them." Natty says looking smug and satisfied with herself.

"20 point to Gryffindor!" Professor Hecat says looking proudly at Natty.

Of course I look over at Amit who's mouth is wide open in disbelief.

I look back a Natty who is grinning proudly. I wink at her I'm so STINKING proud of her! Not many people can outsmart Amit.

"The Patronus Charm is a charm that evokes a partially-tangible, positive energy force known as a Patronus. Your Patronus are  also called spirit guardians.

To successfully cast the spell one must muster a happy memory (the happier the memory, the more powerful and tangible the Patronus will be).

You may not be able to conjure your Patronus first try, it is VERY difficult. Many witches and wizards still cannot perform one.

Now please take out your wand, the incantation is "Expecto Patronum "."

I hear people repeat after her.

I look at Sebastian who is stilling across the room. He winks at me points his wand and out comes a blue magic in the shape of a Phoenix...

"Whoa...." I say along with a few others.

I didn't know Sebastián knew how to cast a Patronus, I shouldn't be surprised at this point, but he never ceases to amaze me.

"Mr. Sallow, 10 points to Slytherin! I'm very impressed." Hecat says winking at Sebastian.

I look at Sebastian who is smirking, putting his feet up on his desk, getting scolded by Ominis to put his feet down.

I try to think of a happy memory. My first try was when I first saw the Hogwarts Castle for the first time. I was In my glory to be here for the first time. I had heard so many stories from my mother, I wanted to be here to see for myself. 

"Expecto Patronum" I say with a flick of the wand. Nothing happens.

A memory of being at the beach with my family. Nothing.

The first time meeting Sebastian. Nothing.

Anne walks over to me smirking "having trouble thinking of something?"

"Well, no... it's just trying to find the right one..." I say feeling a bit defeated.

"We can practice in the undercroft later? I'll help you!" Anne whispers to me happily.

I smirk up at her. "Thanks Anne. I would love that."

"Your struggling too I see?" I hear Garreth say from behind me.

"Unfortunately." I say looking ove my shoulder at him.

"Mind if I sit with you?" He says kindly.

"Not at all Garreth." I say sarcastically wave my hand to the chair next to me.

Garreth gets up and walks over to the chair slumping himself down into it. "What's been up with you? For the past couple day you've been avoiding Poppy, and Natty. It's just not like you."

I look at him surprised, I didn't think Garreth actually paid attention to these things.

"Oh. Um... I just haven't been feeling myself as of late.. and with the NEWTs being even more intense this year, I've been studying nonestop." I wasn't lying to him completely. This year has been more challenging than ever. Even though I have way less classes, the work itself has been very challenging just like todays lesson.

"I see, well we would love to have you back in the group. We all study together. I think with my potions skills, Poppy's beasts knowledge, Nattys wit, and your DATDA's skills, we could pass with flying colors." Garreth says smiling to me.

"Well I'm in." I hear Sebastian say now standing at the table. "I am also witty, and the best duelist."

"You WERE the best duelist." Garreth says teasing Sebastian.

I laugh and look at Sebastian who is standing there frowning.

"I still know more spells. I can teach you lot how to be proper duelist." Sebastian says with a smirk.

"You know Garreth, he has a point. He did teach me a lot of spells. He reads all the time. You never see him without a book." I say to Garreth confidently.

"Right, okay. We can't exactly practice that in the library." Garreth says looking from Sebastian and I.

"I have the perfect spot." I say grinning at both of them.
