Ch. 28 : The Old Tradition

Mew and Gulf enter the big vintage house together. Everyone in the living room quickly gathers around them as all families are shocked seeing their condition. They look really messy. Some parts of their bodies are also wrapped in bandages.

"Oh my God! What happened, Gugu, Mew? Why are your bodies injured like this? You guys were attacked?"

"Ma, it's a long story. I'll tell you the full story, but I'll take Gulf to rest first, okay? He's a little tired..."

"O... kay?", Mew nods and takes the younger to his bedroom.

Both leave them dumbfounded. Before leaving for this island, they didn't even speak at all. But, now they look close again. Nunew is curious. He pulls Max to follow his big brother together. The younger is overjoyed to see that Gulf is taken to Mew's bedroom. He struggles to hold back his screams. His older brother's arm also becomes the target of Nunew's little punches. But, without them realizing, their big brother has come out from the bedroom. He approaches those who are seen crouching not far from his room. Mew taps Max's shoulder. Both Max and Nunew are shocked until they fall to the floor. They laughs sheepishly before running away.

Mew follows them to living room. Everyone gathers there. Fort and Mix who previously walked in the park  have joined as well. The leader of Golden Sun starts telling the whole story.

"At first, three cars were following me. We deliberately led them to the bridge so we could trick them. But, it turned out their people had been waiting on the other end of the bridge. Gulf was stalked too, so they checked on us. He called me and told me that. It's too late. We couldn't turn around. Exactly before my car was hit, Gulf came protecting me. His car was hit instead and fell from the brid-"

"What?! He fell from a bridge?!"

"Yes, Ma. I don't know how he did it, but he climbed the bridge. He protected me again by kicking the stone that Day held before he could hit me. His emotions were really at their peak. He beat Day until he hurt himself. In fact, he nearly killed him by throwing him off the bridge. But, in the end, Day chose to commit suicide after learning the truth that Gulf saw his mother killed in front of him. He felt guilty. His family made a child gone through the same pain as him. Even sending him to kill that child...", they gasp.

"His mother was also killed? Didn't she die because of illness?"

"That's what surprised us too, Ma..."

"Sigh... If Day died, Drew won't stay silent. He will only be more ambitious to beat us and take the chip...", Earth says.

"Mmmm... About that chip..."

"Why, Mew? It's okay! You can tell us..."

"P'Po, Earth, the chip was damaged when Gulf's car fell from the bridge. I'm really sorry. This happened because Gulf tried to protect me...", Apo smiles.

"It's okay, Mew! We can always make chips like that again. Especially now that technology has also advanced. The most important thing is that you and Gulf are safe..."

"I am worried that Drew would go crazy after finding out the chip was gone. Plus, he lost his first son and his second son was also disabled because of the last incident...", Mile says.

"Yes. And, before this, my people also reported that Black Eagle allied with small to medium-sized groups. We will be in trouble if he knew about the chip...", Jitra continues.

"He has known it. Gulf called him and told him about it..."

Everyone there looks shocked, except Apo and Earth. They are used to it. This is what Earth used to say, don't let Gulf act up or they will get a headache. His words are proven now.
