THE DAY OF THE EARTHQUAKE
Mew and Max just have their breakfast. And, they are in the living room now. It's their morning routine to spend quality time together before working all day. No gadget nor internet.
"Khun Mew! Khun Max!", a middle-aged housemaid comes to her masters with a panicked face.
"What's wrong, Aunt Pha?"
"There was a big earthquake in South Korea! Is Khun Nu okay?"
"WHAT?!", the siblings exclaim together.
Mew immediately turns on the TV and increases the volume. All channels are reporting the same thing. It seems really bad. Many buildings collapsed. Roads crack. Even to the point where there is a big deep hole in the middle of the road. Mew and Max are getting uneasy.
"An 7,3 S.R earthquake with 10 km depth just occured in South Korea. The epicenter was in Taebaek, Gangwon Province. As you can see on your screen, almost all cities in Gangwon province were destroyed. One of the affected cities is Pyeongchang. Buildings collapsed. Accidents and fires happen everywhere. Landslides also reportedly occurred in a camping site called 'Sunny Camping Site'. Up until now, there has been no confirmation on the number of victims."
The TV screen displays the current conditions of the Sunny Camping Site. Almost the entire area of the camp is covered with soil. Both gasp. They remember that the location is where their brother and his friends camped. Mew and Max take out their phone, trying to call them. But, no one gets answer. Their phones don't connect at all. At the end, Mew orders his subordinate who are on a mission in South Korea to check on their condition.
"Fuck it! South Korea International Airport is temporarily closed. What should we do? I am very worried about their condition. Moreover, Nunu's health is still unclear too. The results of his medical examination have not yet come out. What should we do, phi?"
"Calm down, Max! I've told our subordinates to find them. They will be alright..."
Inevitably they wait with uneasy feelings. There was nothing they could do at this point. Hour by hour is passing by. Seven hours without any good news. Various bad scenarios started running through their heads.
Ting!
"Max, Park sent an SOS signal from his watch!"
"What?! Where are they, phi?!"
"They're in town and still moving. I'll send their location to our subordinates..."
"Then, I'll try to contact Nat!", Max's eyes widen as he opens their room chat.
"My messages are sent, Phi! He is connected!"
Max tries to call his boyfriend again. It's connected now. In no time, Nat answers it. He burst into tears as soon as he hears Max's voice. Max panicked for a moment. He thinks something bad had happened to his boyfriend. But, when Nat mentioned Jelly while crying, the older frowns. He asks him to pass the phone to Park. His body immediately loses strength. His face turns pale when he hears Park and Gulf's explanation.
"What's wrong, Max? Why are you so tensed?"
"N-Nunew...", Mew's eyes widen.
"Answer me, Max! What happened?!"
"He is injured and is being taken to the hospital. A doctor is with him. He explained that Nunew has internal bleeding a-and also..."
"Also what, Max?!", Max sighs.
"Doctor suspects him to have a heart problem. But, he couldn't tell us yet until Nunew get a complete check-up at hospital..."
"Impossible! It's impossible! How could it be like this?! Why can a boy as healthy as him suddenly have a heart disease?! No! That doctor must be wrong!"
