Ch. 11 : Clear The Air

The next morning, Gulf has a fever instead of getting better. A doctor who examined him said that this was the result of exhaustion, stress, and that his body had not fully healed since the accident. And, this means Gulf has to stay longer as patient. Of course, he is bored. Person who is usually busy for 24 hours now can only lie on a hospital bed. Plus, just being silent still makes him think of Mew. The sadness is clear on his face. Fort notices this, but decides to not say anything.

"Fort..."

"Yes, uncle?"

"Can you help me get my laptop in my office?"

"Sure! But, are you going to work?", the nephew looks at his uncle suspiciously.

"I'm just gonna check some files, not working. Hurry up! I also have a lot of snacks in the drawer. You can take anything you want..."

"Okay!"

Fort rushed to carry out his uncle's orders. He gets the laptop. He also doesn't forget about the snacks. He is stunned as he sees the drawer full of snacks and drinks. With a happy heart, he takes everything he wants and put it in a tote bag.

"Hi! Are you dr. Gulfian's nephew?", Tutor greets Fort as he comes out from Gulf's office.

"Yes! And, you are..."

"I'm co-ass here. My name is Tutor and dr. Gulfian is my mentor..."

"Ohhh~ Nice to meet you! I'm Fort..."

"How is dr. Gulfian now? Is he better now?", the young boy pouts.

"Instead of getting better, he has a fever now..."

"It must be happened after he worked that hard for a whole week..."

"That's exactly what the doctor said. Seems like he'll need to rest for a few more days..."

"Yes. But, don't worry! Other doctors will replace him until he is fully recovered..."

"I see. Mmm... Can I ask something?"

"Sure! What is it?"

"Do you happen to know who the man that like my uncle?"

"Of course, I know! Everyone in this department knows him. He is a patient that your uncle treated in the ER. He often sent gifts and even came to visit dr. Gulfian by himself..."

"Does my uncle really like him?"

"Mmm... I'm not sure about that...", Tutor hesitates.

"In your opinion, how is the relationship between the two?"

"Honestly, this person was the first person to get your uncle's attention. Since I worked with dr. Gulfian, he never accepts gifts by himself or meets anyone other than patients and their families. But, this man is exception. Maybe because he is too persistent to chase after your uncle..."

"Really? Then, what happened to them?"

"I'm not sure either. It's been a week since the last time he visited dr. Gulfian..."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm pretty sure. If he did come, everyone must be talking about it because he is usually followed by several bodyguards. His appearance is also not like that of an ordinary person. He almost always wears a suit whenever he came. His gaze is sharp and cold, but will only soften and warm when he is with dr. Gulfian..."

"You mean like the mafia in the movies?"

"Similar to that. I remember the first day he came to ER. dr. Gulfian almost got into a fight with his bodyguards. However, recently, they just found out that he is the big brother of the patient dr. Gulfian saved in South Korea...", Fort's jaws drops.
