"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do may be held against you in a court of law." Ryan Tanner said as he tightened the cuffs on Alex's hands.

Alex huffed but co operated this wasn't his first rodeo and moved as he was guided out of Meredith's room.
"Take him immediately to the O.R." Dr Bailey announced to the assisting staff as she wheeled an injured Finn down the corridor on a yellow gurney.

Derek was down by Meredith's side with a protective arm around her "not now" he waved off a cop who wanted a statement from Meredith. The cop then hesitantly listened and left the room to find Ryan.

"I'm not going to let him hurt you again Meredith. I love you, I love you so much that it hurts. I love you and your daughter. She's such an amazing young girl and I'm glad that I met both of you. I owe you so much. Meredith I won't allow anyone to hurt you" he quietly told her in her ear. An upset tone in his voice.

She didn't say anything but leaned closer into him and let her emotions pour out.

"It was him who attacked you in the office that day wasn't it?" Derek hesitantly asked. He wanted to know, he needed to.

" I hate him. I hate him so much..." she cried into his chest.

She looked up at him wiping her eyes

"Thankyou... for being here"

"Oh Mer you have no idea how happy I am to finally hear your voice again" he kissed the top of her forehead as they held onto each other still on the hospital room's floor.
"I guess I was just.. stuck" she let out a small laugh which caused them both to smile.
"We need to go help Alex, see what we can do."

"You aren't doing anything. As soon as I'm allowed at the station I will go you need to take it easy. And if it's okay I will drop Ellis to you in the morning you need a familiar face. I figured hers would be the best."
Derek smiled.

Meredith nodded her head against him "I love you. Derek ... you saved me."
