Chapter 20 - Should everything fall apart

I ran through the forest desperately, trying to find Nimona
I need to fix this mess...

I looked everywhere until I found the remains of my old village, then I saw Nimona on her knees looking at the city....

Sniff...hic...sob

Was she....crying?...my poor girl...

"Hey hun....Nimo-..huh!?"

Suddenly black smoke started to surround her as she yelled out in anger

"Nimona?!, HEY!, what are you planning!?"

Turning into a gigantic black beast
She started moving towards the city, each step she took caused a slight tremor, the city quickly noticed her presence and assumed it was her coming to destroy everything, launching its defenses against her

I pulled my hair, stressed out

"Dammit! What is she trying to do?! I gotta convince her to stop!"

I jumped with everything I had and landed on her back, climbing to the side of her head

"Nimona! Honey....what are you trying to do!?, please talk to me....we can get through this together"

She stopped and looked over to the statue....
I quickly realized what she trying to do...

"So you want to destroy it?"

She nodded

"Ok then....If people will call us monsters then let's act as such..."

Several automated drones were dispatched in order to fight us, I jumped on one and tore its wings apart, throwing it at the rest of the group, exploding everything

Suddenly I heard a loud cry from her
Seeing her getting bombarded on the back

"Sh*t! There are too many of these things!"

I saw a few civilians inside a collapsing building, and quickly jumped inside and got them out

"Here....you're safe...go away now"

The mother of the group looked at me confused, but still let out a hesitant...
"Thank you"

I was taken aback by her kindness....but snapped back to reality quickly

Fighting off as many drones as I could
I saw Ambrosius trying to evacuate the city
I stood before him with an angry face

Ethan: "I hope you're happy Ambrosius"

Ambrosius: "I...I didn't want this"

Ethan: "Well in one way or another you caused this!, I don't know how the hell you still fell for the director's tricks but that was so STUPID of you!"

Suddenly the canon on the wall started pointing towards the city

Ambrosius: "wha!?...."

He pressed a device on his ear

"Director! Someone is pointing the canon towards the city!"

Director: "I know....i gave the order"

Ambrosius: "But it has enough power to destroy half the city!, innocents will die!"

Director: "And so will the monster"

I stared at him with shock

"Did you just say HALF the city!?"

"What...what are we even doing?"
