Chapter 12 - Subway, Market, kidnapping?

The three of us sat there inside the train, there was an ad about some dragon that breathed "crunchy cereal"
I couldn't help but cringe and feel offended about how the children wanted to "slay" said dragon

"Jesus that ad is awful" I said, trying to break the silence as Nimona disgustingly ate a slice of pizza in the form of a gorilla

"You two have been staring" She mentioned, although Ballister and I are staring for completely different reasons...I was admiring the view...Ballister was just disgusted by how she ate that pizza

"Y'all want pizza??" She teased while offering the crust covered in saliva

"Can you please just be normal for a second?" Ballister added

"Normal?"

"I just think it would be easier to be a girl!, just like how Ethan is always a boy all the time, right Ethan?" I was distracted by something and just stared when he called out for me

"I...I guess?" I answered, a little confused

"Pfff....easier to be a girl?, you're hilarious" She replied, clearly rejecting his offer

"I mean easier if you were a human" He added

"Easier for who?" She asked stubbornly

"For you....not everyone is as accepting as me" Ballister said trying to make sense

"That actually makes a lot of sense....better for us to have a surprise element right?" I said trying to help Ballister a bit and not offend Nimona

"Mhmmm..." She narrowed her eyes, not really convinced

"I....how did you two get like this?" Ballister questioned

"What, you mean awesome?" Nimona teased

"No I mean....i-i'm just trying to understand what I'm working with here"

I was surprised by how hard he was trying to be nice here, it was just sheer curiosity and nothing less or more, I could tell, If there was something I was good at, it was reading people

"I'm....Nimona" She clarified as I rubbed my forehead in frustration

"That explains....literally nothing" Ballister insisted

"Well I mean...I don't reall-" Before I could say anything else I got cut off by Nimona sighing

"No you're right, you deserve a better explanation" She said, apparently giving up and deciding to spill the beans, did she know something I didn't maybe? I had no idea why we were both like this...

"I was just a kid....cute, little and innocent"

"The cute part still stands" I thought
"I was playing in the woods following the birds flying, the fish swimming and the deer pouncing"

"They looked so happy together, but I.....I was alone" Both ballister and I payed real close attention right this moment

"That's when I heard it, a voice singing, and it led me to....a wishing well"-->"wait a wishing well? How did you know it wasn't a regular well?" I stared at ballister, annoyed he broke the immersion
