Should everything fall apart (Nimona x Male OC)

Times of peace

The small plastic ball falls to the ground, it bounces several times before a child picks it up and throws it towards their pet dog

The sound of thousands of people either chatting, negotiating, playing...

It screams peace...maybe this is that kind of kingdom....and that kind of story...

Suddenly a pink and blue flash can be seen through the streets moving at high speeds, many of the bystanders spot them and their eyes light up and a grin shows on their faces as they wave to these flashes of light

"Hehehe!"
"Hahaha!"
Heartwarming laughter can be heard from these flashes...they slowly grow and grow until they take on the form of two human beings....both hugging and laughing with each other as they run across the buildings and streets of the city

Suddenly both of these little humans bump into a couple, a blonde man, former captain of the elite knights of the realm, known as Ambrosius, and the other dark haired man, former knight...the best fighter of his class and currently recognized as a hero alongside the two shapeshifters in front of him, known as Ballister

"Ack! Sorry...we're sorry about that-"

N: "Oh"
E: "Ohhh...crap"

"Well hello there you two" Ballister said while brushing off the dust from his shirt

"You're late for lunch"
A smirk showed on Ballister's face, clearly teasing them

"I'm sorry alright!? We overslept!"
Nimona replied

"Hmm? Too busy cuddling into each other to remember you have lunch with us?" Ambrosius replied mischievously

We both blushed a deep red while frowing at them

"Pfff, hahaha! They really are made for each other, they can even make the same faces"
Ballister teased as he walked towards the Antlered Serpent's entrance, Ambrosius walking alongside him, both of them inviting us to follow them....

As we ate I reflected about the past year....wait....it's really been a whole year....I don't remember the last time I was even stressed out...or felt any anger at all

It's been so peaceful...

I looked at Nimona with a lovestruck expression as she mercilessly devoured a steak

Both Bal and Ambrosius stared at her, a bit disgusted, I glanced at them and asked

"So....what have you guys been up to this week?...we finally managed to hang out and have a nice chat just the four of us, how has been Alex doing?" I asked as I stretched my arms, still having a bit of sleep in me

"Oh he's been doing....ok...he's just 9 and he's been doing great at school, I got some photos here with me" Ballister said excitedly, taking out his phone and showing us several photos of a curly haired child playing in the mud, and getting ready for school

Nimona's eyes sparkled as she stared at the screen

"You guys need to visit us sometimes!!! I miss the little guy, besides, we literally live next to each other! Just walk like 10 meters and you're at our door"
She demanded

"Chuckle we've just been a bit busy with work, after we retired as knights, we had to get other jobs y'know?" Ambrosius replied

"Our boss is a bit of a pain in the ass, his heart is in the right place but he's a bit old and grumpy, it's hard to work with him"
Ballister added with a tired tone
