Here's a happy chapter before it all gets dark again.
Both Shouyou and Tobio grew on one another. They both didn't have any other friends so they each relied on the other for most situations.
They would often study for school together at Tobio's house, even though they both weren't proficient in any particular subject.
Tobio had contemplated contacting some of his volleyball teammates, but he decided against the idea seeing as he didn't really know them all that well aside from Yamaguchi.
But wherever Yamaguchi was, Tsukishima was not far behind and Tobio could not deal with that beanpole asshole for more than an hour a day.
So he settled down with Shouyou, doing schoolwork and bouncing some answers off of eachother when completing homework.
"Have you done any of the biology work yet?" Shouyou asked Tobio, flipping through some pages in one of the many textbooks scattered on Tobio's floor.
"Hell no. I practically gave up after last week. My teacher is an actual ass."
Shouyou nodded in acceptance, continuing to flip through the pages to find the unit he was struggling with.
After a few long moments of silent studying, Tobio changed the subject.
"So you know how I do volleyball and whatever?"
"I do recall coming to one or two of your games, yes."
"Do you do anything outside of school?"
Tobio was surprised he had t asked Shouyou the question yet. Perhaps he had been too preoccupied with everything else going on. But he still felt like he should learn more about the ginger.
Shouyou thought for a moment, "I do like photography,"
He finally responded."Really?"
"Yeah, I have a few cameras at my moms and she has a weird obsession with hanging up my photos. Shouyou's cheeks turned a bright pink at the thought.
"That's really cool! How come you didn't tell me about this sooner?"
Shouyou shrugged and began getting back to his homework.
"Actually, Shouyou," at the mention of his name, Shouyou listed his head again, "the volleyball team kind of sort of has a big game coming up and we're trying to advertise our club. Maybe you could take a few photos?"
Shouyou tapped his pencil against his forehead in thought, "I guess I could. I'm not really doing anything after school these next couple of days anyways. Sure, why not."
Tobio internally danced at the thought of Shouyou stopping by the club again. He really wanted to properly introduce Shouyou to his safe place, his second home.
"Awesome! I think we may have a few times to fit you in for photos these next few days. I'll text you the information after contacting the other club members!"
Shouyou smiled at Tobio and nodded his head once again, "that sounds like fun. Thanks, Tobio."
"Of course."
And with that, they returned to their work.
