"C'mon!" Tobio shouted to Daichi and Sugawara, who, for the entire time, had stood where they were astonished at their underclassman's actions.
They quickly followed in suit, putting their volleyball training to good use.
Shouyou, surprisingly keeping up with Tobio, (all those days hiking to and from his house plus all the added adrenaline seriously paid off) tapped the ladder on the shoulder with his free hand.
"We need to hide. Hashi is 100% faster than me and I don't have enough stamina to run much faster," he said between breaths.
"I might know a place, hang in there."
Tobio led everyone onto the streets of Miyagi and past a few buildings before landing at his workplace. He swung the door open and led his friends into the break room, where two of his coworkers were sharing a coffee.
Shouyou immediately collapsed onto one of the couches, panting heavily as his stomach raised higher than what Tobio thought was humanly possible.
"Hey, don't hyperventilate now," Tobio spoke, placing his hands on his knees and taking a few deep breaths.
"How kind of you to join us," Tobio's coworker, Aiko, interrupted.
"So sorry for the intrusion. We're looking for a place to hang out for a while," Sugawara explained, as calmly as possible.
"Well, can you perhaps hang out in the public coffee house, this is for employees only."
"Aiko-"
"It's fine, Kageyama. I'm sure those guys won't find us here. We're all good."
"Alright, how may I get you situated then?" Aiko asked, standing up and leading everyone's out to the main café.
The four of them looked at each other. Then, like a spell of mania landed upon them, they each began laughing.
Neither of them knew why they were laughing, they really had nothing to laugh about, everything had gone to hell. But hell didn't seem that bad when it was just some kids from school. Yeah, those kids were all assholes, but they could deal with them some other time. For now, it was just them, and a café, and a slightly fractured jaw, and some sexually confused kids. And it all felt so surreal. Everything felt possible. Everything felt right. Just as it should be.
Shouyou was the first to calm down and speak.
"Just a table for four."
