It was extremely late. All the streetlights had turned on hours ago. Tobio and Shouyou were swinging on the local playground's swingset after a long (and exhausting) dinner with Shouyou's mom and sister.
"You know, I really do wish I could've had dinner with my dad, too." Shouyou broke the peaceful silence between them.
"Yeah, I guess I get that," Tobio agreed.
"You do?"
"I mean, he is your dad. You've loved him your entire life, and he, you, right?"
"Yeah," Shouyou looked down to his feet.
"But then he stopped. Not because you you killed someone, not because you're like a cannibal or something, but because you're gay."
"Those are both very extreme."
"Yeah but my point still stands. You literally just existed and he couldn't handle that. You shouldn't have to hide who you are for him to love you. That should be unconditional."
"Even if I am a murderer?" Shouyou lightly joked.
"I know I'd still love you." Tobio replied.
Shouyous' eyes widened, causing Tobio to look back on his words and his cheeks flush a very deep red.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me I just-"
"You mean it?"
"...Yeah, I really do."
"Me too."
"Really?"
"Tobio Kageyama, I really do love you, too."
Tobio and Shouyou both smiled and shared a quick kiss.
"Come on, let's go somewhere warmer," Tobio took Shouyou's hand in his and led him back to his Café.
The bell to the café rang as an echo throughout the store. The smell of baked goods filling up the almost empty shop. There are four stacks of chairs towards the right of the cafe, each consisting of five chairs. The only available seats being the booths located alongside the left wall. Two fans keep the store at a cool temperature.
A figure popped out from the back of the shop. It was Aiko. "Hello, what can I get for you?" She looked tired, and sounded it too, as she spoke in a monotonous voice.
Shouyou and Tobio shared a look.
"A Table for Two, Please."
