Midterm week is approaching kaya busy narin kaming lahat sa paghahabol ng topics at pagrereview. I only need to review may calculus 1 dahil yun lang naman ang nagpapahirap sa akin pati narin yung prof ko sa course ko na iyon. I sighed nang maalala ko na naman siya ulit. It has been two weeks since I kept on avoiding her after that date. Even if she claims that she is single ayoko nang maniwala baka sinabi niya lang iyon para paniwalain lang ako na single siya at hindi cheater.
I need to avoid her because I am afraid that I may have a high probability that I can reciprocate her feelings kuno na sinasabi niya. She is my professor that would be a big problem lalo na at first year pa lang ako.
"Kaeth bakit kanina ka pa bumubuntong-hininga diyan?" Biglang tanong ni Angel, kasama ko pala silang dalawa ni Jinky dito sa student lounges sa baba ng building namin.
"I am sorry just distracted at wala nang pumapasok sa utak ko." I answered and tapped my pen in my paper. Puro numbers at variables na lang ang nakikita ko.
"Same, ang hirap ng calculus sa proving ayoko na." Reklamo naman ni Jinky at pinatong na lang niya ang ulo niya sa ibabaw ng kaniyang notebook.
"We should take a break. Magbakasyon tayo for a day mukhang na stress na tayo masiyado rito. We deserve a rest." Suggest naman ni Angel na nakatanggap naman siya nang batok ni Jinky.
"Hoy last weekend lang ay nagdagat kayo ng fam mo ngayon naman another vacation? Magstudy na lang tayo para kapag pumasa edi roon na tayo magcelebrate." Napatango naman ako sa sinabi ni Jinky.
We started studying again at ilang oras din iyon bago napagpasiyahan na umuwi na.
"Dad I don't like the guy, I won't go for a second date anymore." Rason ko habang nagvivideocall kami ni Dad and Mom.
"Sweetie, you should try it since you are single. Find a love of your life." My mom said in the other line.
"Mom, I like someone already." Kahit wala sa plano na sabihin ko iyon ay nasabi ko nalang dahil mangungulit lang sila.
"Really?" Excited na sabi ni Mom kaya napatango ako. I am not lying tho that I liked someone.
"Yes mom."
"So when will you introduce this someone to us?" My dad asked strictly. Napalunok na lang ako.
"This someone like someone else Dad." My mother's face contorted.
"What? That cannot be true. Who can't like you?"
"Mom don't exaggerate it." Pagsaway ko sa kaniya pero tinaasan lang niya ako ng kilay.
"We will be going home next month darling better prepare that someone to meet us or else you'll go for a second date with that guy that I've mentioned." Magrereklamo pa sana ako but I heard in their background that they were called by someone kaya agad din silang nagpaalam sa akin.
Why did Miss Cruz was in my head when I said I like someone? Do I really like her now? Or this is just because she said she likes me? Everything is messed up.
My phone rang kaya tumayo ako para kunin ito sa lamesa.
"Hello?" I didn't bother to look who called.
"Kaeth please attend the meeting mukhang hindi mo yata nabasa ang message sa gc may meeting ang committee natin ngayon." Jep said in the other line agad ko nang pinatay ang tawag at kinuha na ang laptop ko mabuti na lang hindi ko pa ito na shutdown. I backread the gc and saw the meeting link kaya pumasok na ako.
"We need to have a partnership with the Nagi company they align in our values and mission. Having them as partners will be beneficial to us and we will be beneficial to them also if we will market our organization to them the right way." Saad ng convenor ng committee namin.
The discussion went on and on kung paano namin mapa oo ang company na iyon.
"Kaeth and Jep will be assigned to talk to them in person. Please convince them to agree with our terms."
Nandito na ako ngayon sa pagkikitaan namin ni Jep. I am in front of the main headquarters of Nagi Company. This company turn garbages into alternative of coal to produce cement at dahil environmental ang organization na kinabibilangan ko which is the Green Philippines ay isa itong advantage na maging partner sila. Lalo na at gumagawa rin kami ng mga clean up drive.
"Hey sorry for running late na flat kasi yung gulong ng motor ko. Kaya nag commute na lang ako." Hinihingal sa sabi ni Jep na nasa harapan ko na ngayon.
"It is okay kakarating ko lang din. Let's go now." We entered the building agad na tumambad sa amin ang operations nila. Their machines are big and maamoy din ang baho galing sa mga basura.
"Excuse me where is the office of the director here?" I asked the man who is currently guiding the people working there.
"Miss nasa labas po, yung maliit na bahay po sa gilid ng building na ito." Sagot niya at nagpasalamat din naman agad ako. Tinungo na namin ang sinasabi niyang maliit na bahay pero ang nakikita lang namin ay isang bahay na katamtaman ang laki na mukhang walong tao ang pwede na tumira doon.
Jep knocked on the door at lumabas naman ka agad ang isang matandang lalaki. He smiled at us.
"Are you the Green Philippines representatives?" He asked at tumango naman kami ni Jep. Based on his feature he is a Japanese and his accent is showing when he talked.
"We were waiting for you, please come in." He gestured to follow him pagkapasok namin sa loob ay agad akong namangha even Jep has his jaw dropped. The interior design is superb.
A L leather couch is in the living room with a big smartscreen TV, a big table for dining, a clean kitchen and a pool table. As we follow the man, he knocked on the door which is in the very corner of the house.
The man opened the door and let us come in. The room was a big office with a big table and a smaller table in the corner and a couch for guests, I guess.
"Please seat so that we can talk already about the upcoming partnership of our company to your organization." Said by the man so we sat down and began discussing the possible benefits we could have in this partnership and the terms and conditions.
Jep did almost all the talking since he is one of the convenors and I am just part of the committee for Project Innovation Committee.
"I'll call you tomorrow I will be reporting this first to the CEO. She is not around here yet. But rest assured your organization, and our company will be signing the contract very soon." Napangiti naman kami sa sinabi niya. Few more exchange of conversations before we bid goodbye.
Pumunta na kami sa parking lot para narin makauwi na. Dala ko ang motor ko ngayon dahil narin napakainit para magcommute.
"Magkocommute na ako Kaeth, salamat sa pagsama sa akin dito." Jep said when we reached my parking spot.
"Hatid na kita." I offered na agad namang ikinaliwanag ng kaniyang mukha.
"Oi wala nang bawian ha." Napatawa naman ako sa kakulitan niya but it was short lived since I heard a fake cough behind me.
"Mascarpa, we will talk. Let your friend go home and you will stay with me." Her voice was cold, and it sent shiver to all nerves of my body. I have been avoiding her and yet magkikita lang pala kami rito?
