Papunta na ako sa bahay ng mga magulang ko kasama si Uno. I looked at her in the mirror of my car. She is getting better day by day kaya rin siguro panatag na ang loob ko na iwan siya sa condo ko. She can take care of herself now. Umiinom narin siya ng gamot. Pero nakikita ko rin ang pagbabago niya. Hindi na siya masiyadong madaldal kagaya ng dati. But I let her be since she needs time to process everything.
Isang oras din ang byahe papunta sa bahay nila mom and dad. Buti na lang ay sasakyan ko ang gamit namin ngayon at hindi motor dahil kahit alas singko na nang hapon ay mainit parin.
I parked the car outside at bumaba na kami ni Uno. We went inside. Nakakapagtaka lang ay bakit dito nila na isipan ni Mommy na mag dinner. Usually sa condo o apartment o sa labas kami kumakain. My mom is not into cooking din kasi. Yung dad ko lang at masiyado na siyang busy para gawin iyon. I miss the gold old days na may time pa sila sa akin. But I do understand naman na kailangan nilang tutukan ng pansin yung mga negosyo nila.
"We are here." I shouted in the living room and Uno went to the couch to lay down. I looked at her for a second and went to the kitchen dahil parang may mga boses na nanggagaling doon.
"Mom, I am hungry." Saad ko at lumapit sa kaniya na ngayon ay nakatalikod sa direksyon niya. I hugged her in the back na ikinatili niya. Mukhang nagulat ko siya at hindi niya rin ako narinig kanina. Masiyadong focus sa pagbabalat ng shrimp.
"You daughter of your father, don't ever startle me like that." Nakakunot niyang sabi habang ang tingin ay nasa shrimp parin. I pouted. Harsh naman non.
"Mommy I missed you, di pwedeng naglalambing lang." Nakayakap pari ako sa kaniya. She smiled a bit and moved her head to kiss my cheeks. Nakapatong lang kasi ang ulo ko sa balikat niya.
"Why don't you greet your future wife over there." My mom pointed the direction in my back. I turned around only to see a beautiful lady wearing a cute apron or should I say my apron. And she is holding a platter of lobster. The big ones.
"Hey" She greeted me with a smile and walked towards me.
"Hi, what are you doing here?" I didn't know she will come here.
"That's rude baby, I invited her here to teach me how to cook." Mom replied and washed the shrimp and went out of the kitchen.
"Mom where are you going?" I asked, kasi iniwan lang niya ang shrimp sa lababo.
"You continue what I have started baby. We will have baby time with your father too." She answered and completely went away. I look at E in front of me and I get the platter of lobster out of her hand and put it in the table.
"When did it start that you are getting close to my mom?" I crossed my arms and tried to look serious in front of her. She gave me a cheeky smile and went to kiss my cheeks. Or to be exact it was a kiss near my lips.
"I missed you." She said and hugged me. I hugged her back. Kahapon lamang ang huli naming kita pero hindi rin kami nagkausap dahil busy siya sa paperworks. Finals are fast approaching kaya busy ang mga profs at mga estudyante.
"You didn't text me you'll be here." Nagtatampo kong sabi habang nakayakap parin sa kaniya. She hummed and no plans to answer my question. I pushed her away gently so that I can see her face.
"Magluto ka na." Pagtataboy ko sa kaniya na ikinasimangot niya. She pouted but went to the stove to cook. I followed her from behind and watched her cook in a near distance.
"You cook well." I complimented her na agad niyang ikinangiti.
"Yeah para masarap yung kakainin ng mga anak natin in the future." She winked at me pero nakatanggap lamang siya ng isang pinong kurot galing sa akin.
"You wish, hindi pa nga kita sinasagot eh." I replied and flipped my hair. Tumawa naman siya sa inakto ko at hinapit niya ako matapos niyang ilunod ang shrimp sa pan.
"You are my wish." She said and gently planted a kiss to the tip of my noes bago niya binalikan ang niluluto niya.
We are now dined in the dining table. Nakaset-up narin ang lahat. I am in the left side of my dad katapat ko si mom at katabi naman ni mom ay si Uno at katabi ko naman sa lamesa ay si Miss. Nagsimula na kaming kumain at puro compliments lang ang lumalabas sa bibig ng tatlo tungkol sa luto ni E. Kaya yung katabi ko todo kung ngumiti. Parang nanalo sa lotto. Ngayon ko lang din siyang nakitang masiyadong nakangiti na parang wala ng bubura nito.
"So hija ikaw ba ang nabigyan ng bulaklak ng anak ko?" Tanong sa matigas na tono ni Dad kay E. Napaangat naman ang tingin ko sa kay dad. I glanced at E who is staring at me. Parang naguguluhan siya sa tanong ni dad.
"The flowers I gave you in your birthday." I clarified to her and she nodded to dad.
"Yes po Tito. The smell of that flower was very pleasant and nice. Not irritating to smell at all." She said after she chewed her food. Napangiti naman ang parents ko roon.
"Anong klaseng flowers yun Kae?" Uno asked and I scratched my brows. Alam kong tutuksuin ako ni Uno kapag sinabi ko sa kaniya kung ano iyon. But before I can answer dad answered already.
"Peony hija. The flowers that she adored so much." I closed my eyes upon hearing it na sinundan naman ng tili ni Uno. I looked at E na ngayon ay mas lumapad ang ngiti at may mapagtuksong tingin din sa akin.
"Dad, you don't have to tell them that." I said in protest at sumimangot.
"Come on baby, you grow that flowers yourself. You don't like pricking it. And your dad and I was shocked upon hearing from your body guard that you ordered him to get you those flowers from your own garden." Mom explained na mas lalong nagpahiya sa akin. I am very shy right now. I don't want E to know that I may also have a slight feelings for her that time.
"Birthday niya kasi that time mom, wala akong maisip na regalo." I said and scratch my neck slightly. E was still smiling until now. Hindi ba siya napapagod sa kakangiti?
"Anyway anak, ang galing mong mamili. Sa maganda talaga. Baka mamaya samahan mo na akong mambabae niyan." Biro ni dad na nakatanggap naman siya ng masamang tingin kay mom at ako naman ay nakatanggap ng matalim na tingin kay Miss.
"Dad!" Saway ko sa kaniya, parang madadamay pa ako.
"Try to look for another woman, I will surely make you regret every inch of your decision." Mom said venomously and I can see how my dad gulped. Takot din naman pala.
My dad immediately went to mom and hugged her and said sweet things. Napapailing na lang ako sa kanila. Uno now is busy with her phone since she is done with her food while Miss Elena was absent mindedly played with her food.
"You okay?" I asked her and reached out her hand. She smiled bitterly.
"I don't want that day to come."
"What day?" I asked and she looked down to her food and sighed before looking up to me again.
"The day you will look for another woman."
