Chapter 2

Early in the morning while glaring through the huge window panel, Noah peacefully sipped her coffee.

Distracted by the ringing of the phone, Olivia lazily woke up to find an incoming call.

"This is Lisle Baffier speaking, Miss Kingsley I wanted to inform you about Mr. Edwin Claire. The information you had about him was indeed true, Edwin stayed here in Paris. You confirmed to us that you have nothing beyond that.

Now adding this new clue. With all our survey list from schools to every hospital, our headquarters had gone through. We were unable to track this Edwin Claire. This name occurred superficially along with the passport details.

Miss. Kingsley, I believe that this was unfortunately his decoy personality and he had another name and family somewhere across the globe.

And with this unfortunate reporting, I feel sad to announce our helplessness."

"So we were chasing a fake identity." Spoke Olivia with her face furrowed with sorrow.

"Unfortunately yes Maam, but have a good day." Spoke Lisle hanging on the call. She threw her phone on the bedside, quite enraged in the morning. Olivia made Noah turn all the way around to face her.

Seated on the bed with her head in her hands Olivia disclosed her frustration.

"It's worthless Noah,
It's worthless.
Our hard work,
Our ticket price along with this journey and a hotel stay
Our time, passion, and interest;

Only to chase a fake identity.

Now that I feel incomplete, I have no idea how to proceed." Spoke Olivia hopelessly lying on the mattress. The following day Noah quietly observed the change in Olivia.

"Hello, Ismail. Do you hear me? It's been determined that Edwin is a fake identity." Pausing for a while she spoke "I know it's sad but I also wanted to make this trip a memory. So the next day earlier in the morning we are visiting the Eiffel Tower."

Silently hearing while pretending to be busy on her phone. Olivia couldn't contain her happiness at the mention of the Eiffel Tower. With all her excitement she hugged Noah, tightly startling her while she was still busy talking to Ismail.

"I love you, Noah, you are my true friend." Spoke Olivia while holding her body against her firm grip. Ismail hanged the call with a grin of satisfaction.

On this mild sunny day, her hazel eyes could see nothing but people's heads. Olivia had to raise her head uncomfortably high to enjoy the view of the tower.

"Here you go, see your struggling self. Everywhere my face turns I only face a huge waiting crowd." Taunted Ismail with a hint of humor.

"I have prepared my camera for this very moment. And now I can only take a picture deep from the crowd," spoke Olivia expressing her dissatisfaction.
~~~
Seated silently on the window seat next to Noah her glad hazel eyes kept glaring over at the camera screen, she childishly grabbed the camera in her arms with a slight grin.
"How gladly we spent our time together at the tower. How high was the sky, standing at the tower top? I never imagined the sky would fall this vast. Our happiness showed no limit on this very instant snap. I can say this is the most attractive exhibit I would ever have if I developed this quite early after our landing.
Talking about our work progress, I am now beginning to feel overwhelmed by our backdrop. How eager we were to move to Paris and how dissatisfied we are leaving for home." Spoke Olivia glaring over at the picture taken from the very top of the Eiffel Tower.
"This isn't our backdrop but a kickstart for me. When you start looking from my point of view, I want to undo my mistakes. Therefore I want to visit the crime scene but this time not within our tape limit but beyond it." Spoke Ismail sitting next to Noah with his brown eyes glaring at the seat ahead. Noah stared blandly at his face with astonishment judging him for his ridiculous statement.
"You mean the vast land stretch, the tropical forest. How ridiculous is this." Spoke Olivia in awe.
"There might be anything within that vast stretch of land that can stand as a piece of evidence. We didn't go beyond our comfort zone. As you said the sky is way beyond our limit so is our efficiency. If we use enough of our minds we might come across this fact. For an individual to live at that spot or to frequently know that spot for in the case of Edwin, they must have stayed somewhere surrounding our crime scene." Continued Ismail.
"I still don't get you but I feel you are right, out of my hopelessness." Spoke Oliva rubbing her tired eyes.
"Let's not discuss any further and concentrate on sleep." Spoke Noah trying hard to sleep.
Walking past through crushing the grass blades, with her drenched and soiled stamps her hazel eyes crossed through every tiny particle lying around the grass.
"This is Olivia, reporting from the crime scene. The area surrounding the water body and within the water body is clean from evidence."
"Ismail speaking from across the taped borders. I report the tapes have been disturbed and shattered to the ground and I report our evidence has been cleaned from the scene." Spoke Ismail on his radio device while bending down on the damp soil, inspecting the scattered mud-covered tapes.
Passing through the clearings, Monty walked way further in the trees. Pushing the branches from blocking his view. His keen brown eyes. Monty observed everything he passed through. These thinner trials merged with low-lying bushes and branching stems making it a natural maze with residing prey animals. Passing through these natural animal-made trials Monty was only able to see animal wastes and dead animal carcasses.
"Monty reporting. sir, nothing suspicious beyond these denser trails."
Walking up to the pace of everyone, Ismail turned away from the usual direction for a moment and his gaze met up with an unusual scene. Carefully narrowing his eyes in that direction, Ismail openly tried to disclose this finding.
"Monty, Olivia. Can you see what caught my view? This hugely constructed, well-carved stone and concrete wall in the depths of this unattended woodland."
"Indeed, this part is the thickest most separated, hidden part of the wilderness." Continued Olivia with visible confusion.
"Considering our hard work, I am rather doubtful I would leave an opportunity like this unattended" spoke Ismail, curiously turning towards the wall's direction. Glaring over at disappearing Ismail, Olivia deep within the wilderness chooses to follow Monty. They proceed walking in the opposite direction from which Ismail left previously.
