Chapter 4

"If you could be so sure about your innocence, then why did Helena Wong decide to say nothing? Why was she more blank and escaping while he asked her everything where she could have defended you both? Why did she stay silent and why should I believe in you when you are the one talking good about yourself?

Helena took the charge and why was she silent and reflective when asked questions as such?"

Caroline squeezed Tyler in the ground against her grip, his head tilted yet his neck bore all the burden.

"I am sorry;
I am sorry for how I have to defend;
I am sorry that you think that way about me, but at least spare me some time so I could at least speak;"

From the corner of his hazel-green eyes, Tyler noticed her husband walk in. Danielle had taken in consideration the situation before he spoke his word to his wife.

"Darling, stop acting like a kid. This boy has the pain of losing her too, he stayed longer for her. Even longer than us and all the evidence that day only proved his innocence.

Isn't this not enough and it wasn't even Umber but someone else who had succumbed to such an ugly fate."

"Being her mother I miss her, and everything seemed difficult these days without her,"

Danielle walked to his wife and she let her deadly grip loose on him. Caroline let Tyler go, she wanted to walk closer to her husband and he wanted to check on her

"Any ache that I can help my wife with, and Tyler why don't you leave for home? Isn't this late already for you to be staying here unnecessarily?"

"He put me down against the ground, twisted me, put half of his body's weight against pinning me in my position and yeah, I have pain and bruise marks I guess."

The couple hugged themselves warmly and gently before him and then proceeded with a quick and professional-looking former kiss.

Danielle sure remembered inviting Tyler to a memorial ceremony that was planned for ahead while he was leaving with his wife. Both Danielle and Caroline were up to leaving for home and the only one still left in the graveyard was Tyler alone.

He still sat around the graves with his heart filled with great sorrows and specifically under the sky much darker.

After days from the funeral ceremony, Tyler still felt dulled down with all the worst memories he had from everything he experienced there.

Time has healed well for Tyler but his past has left a scar for him. Tyler now works under some person neither Leon nor Helena. It is a pretty simple case that gave him room to heal himself. Neither was Zareena, Brian, Wynn or anyone he knew worked along with him. Tyler was busy with his case-related activities each day and following all the patrol duties that he constantly undertook from the start.

Tyler could never forget the fact that someone could dare call him the rapist. Someone who dared question his innocence, his honesty, his integrity, his love for the dead, and that someone could also be the mother of the dead girl he still loved.

Time heals, memories get a refill, and bruises from every beat up too got healed but not for the scars in his memories, the scars ached him as fresh.
