Chapter 3

Leon sat silently glaring at the humbled expressions of both Ina and Garreth. Exchanging gaze among them, Harrold and Ina couldn't seem to cover up their puzzlement.

"Mr. Garreth, and Miss Fish I still memorize what all you had mentioned previously. In case you want to prove me false, I have also maintained a note on your statements individually."
Leon cleared himself, sitting next to Olivia while his deadly gaze landed thorny on their scared self. Olivia had this calm but quiet look that remained equally botherless.

"You both were among the handful of his friends or maybe only friends and family. Still, you decided to deceive him after his demise. How could you do this to your dead friend?" continued Olivia attempting to speak facts straight before their faces.

"Harrold, didn't you lie to us with an old apartment address? Don't you think twice about lying on my face? See where you are? Right before me,

At least Ina is better than you.

Do you even care for your dead friend? You are a document writer yourself and worked similarly with him. You knew him from quite early, you were his kin and he confronted you about this kid Damian, the mansion address. I mean Albert Wood mansion, and also about his only neighbor Annie Albert. Damian was her grandson who was not supposed to be in the place where Frank spoke about finding him.

You people knew about this right from the start and yet you made us go to extra lengths for these silly details that could have been expressed before.

Harrold, you lied to me and you deceived me. After completing his documentary, all Frank wanted was was spend some quality time with you people at the old mangrove lake.

Matching all the links from the invitation by Frank, to you people, to attending the swap side party and recently his death on a similar swamp seems nothing but a loop of a coincidence to me.

Ina, Harrold do you still have words for your innocence?" Spoke Leon looking coldly into their scared eyes.

"Do we look that naive to chant his ghost stories?" Spoke Ina almost accepting defeat to her wave of emotions.

"I was on the brink of losing my interest in this forced friendship, I offered Frank a piece of advice to leave the typical risky job alongside me. Seeing my value in this friendship I tried distancing myself. I avoided him and his everything. Even though I neglected several of his messages I still tried to pursue this namesake conversation with him for a while as I was aware of the fact of how depressed he was while staying all alone after his father's death.

I simply opted not to show up at his party." Spoke Harrold unable to express the grief of losing a best friend.

"This explains for itself, why you filed a missing report after a month of his disappearance." Taunted Leon.

"We didn't want this to be a police case." Spoke Ina casually rubbing away her tears.

"I could have taken stricter action for your forgery of law enforcement. Being law students and lawyers it should put you both to shame, Who are you trying to fool here, We know everything that you still trying to figure out on this date.

I should put you both through home arrest under the strict watchful eye of my rookie officer Brian Harris. Any further complications from your side may directly deliver you behind bars and I will also make sure to deactivate your licence if you continue with your stubbornness. Your free days are restricted from today onwards buy groceries and you can get all your help from him." Spoke Leon ending the interrogation. Calmly waiting for them to leave Olivia caught the opportunity of asking Leon at the hot time.

"Sir, can't we take any legal actions?" Questioned Olivia.

"Olivia, we still lack enough evidence to prove them guilty." Expressed Leon briefing his grief.

Glaring around the passing trees under the dense reflection of the narrowing sunlight. Wynn inhaled fresh air. Sitting beside Brian on the passenger side, Wynn generally asked Brian.

"How am I sitting next to the most handsome academy bully."

"Same as how am I sitting next to my most intelligent, junior roommate." Replied Brian while his eyes focused on the wheel.

"May I know the reason you are refreshing my academic flashbacks?" asked Wynn while looking out through the open window.

"To meet my little sister Cindy Harris." Answered Brian in a monotone voice.

"Cindy... Do you have any specific reason to see her?" Questioned Wynn curiously.

"Coz she is my sister, dude!" Replied Brian sarcastically as a smile arose on his serious face.

"I've been close enough to see through your lies." Spoke Wynn narrowing his doe-shaped eyes in the direction of Brian.

"Fine, I surrender before your brilliance.
Yes, I have my purpose for specifically seeing Cindy this urgent.
As I don't want my sour experience to repeat around Her.
Despite my dad holding a prominent position in the department, I still had to struggle throughout my academic experience. I wondered pretty often why Dad sleeps on our careers. I was the last one to acquire a job from our batch, I got neglected beyond my worth, unlike you who could directly get recruited under chief director Veronica."

"But you still were working all fine under your dad, your recruitment was all smooth under his guidance unlike me who had clawed myself up." Interrupted Wynn under the most concerned tone of voice.

"Anyhow, I have vowed myself to provide an even easier path to my sister, unlike my selfish father who sleeps on us." Spoke Brian gritting his teeth angrily.

"It's understandable Brian, but try to understand. You can't make any decision rational, at least for her sake. We are roommates and friends, I could try to make you understand." Spoke Wynn, glaring over at the parking lot as Brian parked his car in an extended row half-filled with randomly parked cars.

While leaving the car, they searched around the academy for their homeroom in charge. Mrs. Willow Ivy.  Mrs. Ivy is an elderly woman with salt and pepper grey hair and her blurry sight always needs the aid of her rectangular frame specs. Willow Ivy usually takes care of all the lists of the members, she even takes charge of trainee's leave, recruitment, and temporary work or group projects.

Approaching Mrs. Ivy, Brian expressed his requirements before Willow and why he wanted the temporary assistance of both Cindy Harris and Visor Hector for the present situation.

Leading them to the trainees' assembly hall, Willow spares some time for herself to deal with the situation and the trainees as explained.

"Hello Umber," spoke the autotune female voice.

"Yes Madame Kingsley, is there anything important that you want to discuss." Asked Umber.

"It's a piece of good news for us Umber, I alongside Leon are going to accompany you shortly. Since our request for the warrant has been granted. Tomorrow we have decided to come to visit you." Spoke Olivia sharing the good news. "Ma'am I am so happy on behalf of this news that I still cannot wait to share it with Tyler." Spoke Umber immediately hanging on the call.
