Chapter 1

Umber stopped by Olivia's apartment as she asked her to do. Walking into her flat room, she was greeted by a beautiful black Persian cat with a white paw marking on all her four limbs at the end. Monica is the cat name which is Olivia's only pet and yet she loves her so dearly. When Monica brushed past Umber's legs, Umber picked her up out of love after she closed the door behind her.

Even tho it was her first time around a pet cat, Umber was still capable enough to show the domesticated cat enough affection as any of the skilled owners when she brushed her fingers through her groomed and soft black fur.

Umber gently let go of the cat, to take off her shoes and place them arranged and tidy on the show stand within the main door.

On her way inside the home the cat hopped into Umber's arms, the cat was about to fall asleep, and she even beautifully stretched herself to draw out a smooth and comfortable yawn within her smooth grip.

Umber smoothly groomed the cat's fur gently through her fingers as she walked into the living room.

"Madame Kingsley, I am really humbled with what you have arranged for me. I was really craving this burger already. Madame Kingsley, how do you know a lot about me whereas I don't know anything more of you at the same time?

Umber made herself comfortable on the couch, she grabbed the burger that has been offered to her by Olivia. Whereas Olivia was satisfied with only having coffee for herself. Olivia never cared to answer what Umber asked a while ago when she was asked why she had only decided to settle herself with coffee, she simply replied, it was what that was enough for her momentarily.

While Umber was busy eating her burger, Olivia narrowed her hazel-green eyes to her face while she ate. Olivia slowly took sip after sip from her coffee mug.

She had already changed her uniform to a red turtleneck with black leggings on the bottom as she tidily made a bun out of her beautiful ginger hair. Her freckles highlighted on her pinkish-tanned skin.

"Have a seat next to me," she mumbled with her voice lowered enough. While she was still eating the burger, Umber still obeyed what she was asked by Olivia and sat by her side almost immediately.

"Do you remember, it was still yesterday that we get to have some burgers together," reminded Olivia. Wiping her face off to clean all the sauce marks, Umber quickly replied, "I do,"

Either way, Olivia still wanted to share how she got to know about her.

"I simply remembered your order and just guessed that you might have still ordered it a lot," continued Olivia.

When her hazel eyes glared at her calm sleepy cat, Olivia continued.

"My cat has seemed to be drawn much towards you than me." Olivia could almost see that Umber had gotten her uniform dirty with her cat's black fur as she hugged the cat, took the cat in her arms, and when the cat pursued to sleep in her lap like any young human child.

Olivia then further pushed herself, placing the empty cup next to her, Olivia placed Monica down on the floor and by the feet of Umber. The cat fell asleep anyhow. She still had much of her burger uneaten yet Umber was still a slow eater sometimes.

"Look upon yourself, I see a childhood in an adult, a student in an investigator, a motherhood of a child that is supposed to act like my colleague. Your face and your ethereal, magnificent smile. I may sometimes see my youth in you and Noah's past in your friend Zareena if I could share myself more honestly.

The only defect of having a fate similar to mine could be the severe loneliness I have faced before having to meet a precious human in my life called Gerard." Her hazel eyes narrowed toward the childish girl who had her face spoiled and her palm as she spilled some of the sauces while eating. Shamelessly and childishly, without caring less about whom she was sitting next to, Umber proceeded to lick the sauce trail off her palm making Olivia laugh at her silliness.

"Madame Kingsley, I can assure you of one thing. I would never be lonely. Tyler has stepped up to propose to me even ahead of my expectations from him. Not gonna lie about his choice of ring that I returned him coz I was not in the mood of putting a ring so early. I envy for having to give it back to him anyhow." Expressed Umber, as she elegantly wiped her face clean.

"You are making me cry Umber, why do you have to do that to him? I know each one of you and I was glad that a silly one like Tyler was the one to confront for his love the first and to even attempt to put a ring into a girl's finger. I am truly getting goosebumps from this love story. Umber, you better accept him or I will make you accept him," spoke Olivia, while she mockingly punched Umber's forehead with her knuckle strength.

Umber groaned in her pain as she gently but rashly rubbed the spot for her relief. When a tear sprouted in her eye from the pain, she accepted the fact that she should've never returned him his beautifully crafted ring.

"I learned about all five of you when I decided that this could be the right time that I needed you to assist me with my work under my guidance. I am glad that I decided to select you. I even memorized the day completely when I made a team out of all four of you. You along with Tyler, Zareena, and Wynn we're purely a team from my selection. But Brian was not mine altogether he was the resultant of Leon's wish to have him included. Even tho I am satisfied with how he walked out of his little for now and is working hard and earnestly now.

Umber I still have this struck in me, why are you so into helping Zakura this much? Although we are trying I have seen you overcome emotionally for her purpose. Umber, I am doing what is still at my will, while still keeping in mind my safety and security before."

Olivia's statements and her ideology made Umber stop smiling happily for the moment as her name ignited some of her crucial memories within her. She was reminded of the note that she carried in her pocket for long, and finally having the chance to share the note felt a lot to her as she gladly took out the folded paper from her uniform pockets and quickly handed it to Olivia. Getting it from Umber, with her brow raised, Olivia glared through the paper as she noticed every statement scribbled on it.

'Hello Umber,

My dear friend..

While earlier that day when I went through my only daughter's wardrobe. I accidentally stumbled upon this piece of clothing that reminded me of our pleasant time among, when we sat and ate happily.

Even tho I have no purpose in gifting you the dress, I just expect you to stay happy and keep wearing it as a sign of our love. When we still had our daughter with us, we often wished we could've provided her with enough love in time. But we anyhow delayed it, and specifically this fabric could make me realize of the rare precious time that we spent along.

Don't worry about how I located your home address to send you the package to your home. As a mother, I always wanted to reach out for my daughter this bad each day knowing that I have spent yet another day without seeing her face again.
