Chapter 19

Once they arrive at her apartment, Kol walks to the living room and gently places Alex on the couch. Her hyperventilating becomes a full blown panic attack, causing her to not only hyperventilate but for her hands to shake as well as negative memories and thoughts plague her head.

'What if I lose her like I lost my family?' 'I can't lose another person that I love.'

As her panic attack becomes more severe, Kol's concern grows. He kneels down in front of her and grabs her hands causing her to look at him in shock as if just now realizing he was there.

Once he has her attention, he takes a deep breath before saying, "Alex, darling, I need you to breathe with me, okay? Focus on my breathing. Breathe in for four...and out of four." He says as he demonstrates his breathing pattern. Soon Alex's breathing evens out.

"Thank you, Kol."

"Your welcome darling. Now, what happened that caused you to have a panic attack?" At this question, Alex took in a sharp intake of breath. "If you don't want to, it's okay."

"No, no. It's okay...Um...Just, when I couldn't feel any sign of Rebekah after doing that spell, I, um, I was worried that she may be dead...And it just brought back some memories of my family."

"I get it, and we'll find her."

"How do you know that though?"

"Because, daring, the last white oak stake that could kill us was incinerated with Mikael's dead body when Klaus killed him."

Alex took a deep breath and nodded while saying, "Okay, I feel a little better now."

"Okay, good. Let's get some sleep, it's been a pretty long day." Kol said as he stood up and held out his hand.

Alex nodded her head and yawned as she stood up and took his hand, allowing him to lead her to the bedroom. Once they both were situated, they fell asleep.

As Kol wakes up the next morning, he slowly opens his eyes and looks down to see Alex sleeping peacefully on his chest. He smiles down at her softly thinking to himself how lucky he was to have met her as he leans down and kisses her forehead.

Alex stirs awake at the feeling, and opens her eyes to see Kol smiling at her. "Morning Kol."

"Good morning, darling." Kol says back to her. He continues to stare at her, admiring how beautiful she looks in the morning. Alex looks at him in confusion and asks, "What? Is there something on my face?"

Kol shakes his head and chuckles before saying, "No of course not darling. I'm just admiring you. I can't believe that you're all mine."

Alex's heart warms at hearing this. She smiles at him as she caresses his face while saying, "Well believe it." She leans up to give him a short kiss, but as she pulls away Kol pulls her back in to deepen the kiss. She is shocked at first but slowly gives in, kissing him back. Kol moves from her lips to trail kisses down her neck. She moans and leans her head back to give him more access. He growls at the sight and is about to continue when they are suddenly interrupted by the sound of someone knocking on her apartment door. Kol leans his forehead on hers before groaning in annoyance. Alex giggles at this and pecks his lips before saying, "Could you answer the door? I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick."

"Of course, darling." Kol says before kissing her forehead and getting out of bed. Once he gets to the door, he opens it only to see his brother standing there smirking at him.

"Ah, hello Kol."

"Hello Nik. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I didn't interrupt anything did I?" Klaus asks.
