Chapter 19

The past few days have been quite, there hasn't been any signs of Alpha Taten's pack in Kristen's teritory as they have been patrolling every day.

Kristen however has been a wreck. Her heart has been shattered again. She had to force herself into leaving the house and doing her Royal Alpha responsibilities not only for her pack but her job.

Lance had came by while she was gone to get all his things. She was glad that she didn't have to see him with his mate as she couldn't bear seeing them together. Even though she was happy that he found her.

Being that Lance was Kristen's pack Bata, she needs a new second in command. She wasn't sure as she had a lot of young ones. Nicole and Nathen was out of the picture as they were only twelve and way to young. Kelly was sixteen and a sophomore in high school and she too is to young.

Emily was of age at eighteen and a senior in high school but this was her first time in a pack and she still needs to learn a lot about being in a pack. Justin, he has all the criterias but being in the military, he's not around as much as a Bata should.

Britten is the same. Being a pilot, he's not around that much either so the only one left is Dallas. He was young too as a wolf but 21 in human years they considerate them an adult.

He does have a small job working part time for the county. She made since he works nearby, if she really needs him, he can be set free from his job without punishment. His boss didn't like that but agreed as he was a hard worker.

Kristen hadn't told anyone about her decision but everyone knew that Dallas would get it. Which he knew he had to step up and show his Alpha that he was able to do a Bate's job.

Behind close doors, Kristen would break down. Every other night she would cry herself to sleep as she could still smell Lance's scent in her room. She had replace her bed being there was a lot of his scent and hers mix in it.

It was hard on her to love again after her several years relationship with Ethen and their nip they gave each other

Having somewhat of a relationship with Lance made it a little easier to allow herself to fall in love. It was still difficult at times don't get it wrong from the nip, but the more times she was with him, the more the nip weakens.

Being woken up from the sunlight, Kristen realized that she had fallen asleep again in her clothes. It's not surprising as she had been crying herself to sleep.

Hearing a knock echoing down the hall from her front door. Groaning, "Go away." she told them as she ended up getting up to take a shower.

Not caring how long she stayed in the shower, she knew her warm water had turned cold. Grabbing her towel she started drying off. Wrapping it around her, she steped out of her bathroom and into her room where she felt a present.

"New bed?" she heard someone say, causing her to jump.

"Marlena? What are you doing here?" A warm appeared when she saw her sister.

"When have I ever not been here when you need me." Marlena replied as she held out her arms.

Tears started to build, "I had to burn it." Kristen broke down as she made her way over to her big sister's opened arms.

Caressing her damp hair, Marlena held her baby sister as long as she needed. She might be a True Royal Alpha but can still be heart broken.

"I come to realize that I'm not meant to be with anyone." Kristen sobbed.
