Chapter 22

"I don't like this." Dallas growled. "They are laying low somewhere."

"I agree. They are watching us from a far to keeping track our patrols." Kristen agreed.

"I'm glad that Alpha Dedrick's members arrived. Three more is a big help." Dallas was glad that they pulled in shortly after they got back from the station Tuesday night.

Now that Dedrick's wolves arriving, Kristen kept Kelly an Emily home for their safty as well as tell them that were to protect Nathen and Nicole if Alpha Tatten's pack showed up at the house.

With his pack and daughter in danger, Britten has been coming home and staying home longer as he has been refusing extra flights. It was hurting his pay but he still had enough to pay his bills and still have just a little extra.

Ever since Jax showed up at the station, Kristen would find herself at his place hiding under some brush just out of site of the human eye watching Jax house. She would even find herself closer then she liked as they would be able to see her clearly.

She made sure that Taten's pack didn't come near him but she also knew the more time she spent around him the more likely he and his family would be in danger.

She is slowly coming to terms that her soul mate was going to a Silver Blood Hunter. She could fight it all she wants to but in the ends she would be hurt far worse then what happen between her, Ethen and Lance.

Hearing his door open, Kristen raised her head. Watching him come out onto the porch, she lowered her head as she again was to close and she knew her white fur would stand out easily in the greenery surounding her.

He stretch and she felt herself smile. Watching him head to his truck, she made sure that he wouldn't be able to see her as she got up, stretched her own muscles and headed back towards her house. She had spet the night again watching him, but tonight she had to work. She would get Dallas to keep an eye on him when he does his rounds.

Staying in the woods and carefully crossing a few roads being that it was day time, she reached her property. Seeing her house come into view, she also saw Jax pulling up and getting out.

Shit, Kristen grumbled as she raced towards her house. What in the world is he doing here. Quickly and carefully she hurried to the back of her house and through her wolf door. She headed down her hall into her room. Changing back to her human she hurried to her bathroom, grabbed her robe that was hanging on the wall and hurried back down the hall toward her front door.

"Hang on!" she yalled as she stepped into her kitchen.

Taking a deep breath, she casually opened the door, "Mr. Jax." She tried to sound surprised but it came out awkward calling him Mr. "How did you find where I live?"

"It wasn't easy. This may be a small community and they may know everyone but they didn't know where you live which to me seemed funny. So," he shrugged, "I had to do some hard looking around the area and I found your trails."

What, she was startled. She doesn't recall comin across his scent. "Your pack had worn down a well beaten path of your territory. It took me awhile but..." he smiled.

Ever since he saw this wolf, he couldn't getting her out of his mind. Even though he kept telling himself that she has a mate, nothing seemed to work. Human doesn't get the mates like werewolves so what is so special about this one.

"Do you mind if I came in. I would like to talk to you, it's important that we do." He asked, "I have nothing on me that will hurt you. I'm here on good faith." He added.
