Rory was sitting in the living room with Millie, when Logan got back from picking Lorelai up from the airport.
"I wanna feel baby" Millie said
"Right here" Rory put Millie's hand on her belly so she could feel the baby kick
"Why does she move a lot?"
"I don't know"
"Hey!" Logan called out when he walked through the door "guess who's here!"
"Nana!" Millie ran over to the door
"Hi!" Lorelai smiled
"Do you know that baby sister is almost here?" Millie asked excitedly
"I do. That's why I'm here"
"Oh" Millie said as Rory walked into the room
Lorelai fake gasped "you are so not 38 weeks pregnant!"
"Stop it" Rory rolled her eyes
"Logan, does she look 38 weeks pregnant?"
"Mom"
"It's because you're tall. Baby's got more room to grow upwards, so she doesn't need to go outward"
"She's plenty outward, thank you"
"I'm just saying, you look good"
"Nana, do you know that baby moves a lot?" Millie asked.
"Can I feel?" Lorelai asked
"Right here" Rory gestured to the one spot, right near her ribs, where it seemed like the baby was always kicking her
"She's strong" Lorelai said
"Oh yeah" Rory chuckled
"Does it hurt?"
"Only when she gets my ribs"
"Can I show Nana baby sister's room?" Millie asked. Rory and Logan had just finished the nursery the day before, with a lot of 'help' from Millie.
"Go ahead" Logan said
Millie walked up the stairs, followed by Lorelai, Rory, and then Logan. She opened the door to the bedroom that was right next to Rory and Logan's, revealing a white and grey themed room, with pink accents.
"Aww, it's so cute" Lorelai said
"It better be, it was a lot of work" Rory said
"I helped!" Millie said
"Yes you did" Rory ruffled Millie's hair

Almost a week went by that Lorelai was starting with them. On Tuesday, Rory went to pick Millie up from preschool and on the way home she felt a small cramp that she thought might be a contraction, but she didn't feel it again after that, so she dismissed it as 'typical pregnancy pain'. Over the next couple of hours Rory felt a few more of the same cramps, each one a little more painful than the last. She was pretty sure that she was in the early stages of labor.
Rory walked into the living room, after taking a shower, to see Lorelai and Millie sitting on the rug, playing hungry hungry hippos.
"Mommy, come play with us" Millie said
"If you sit down on the floor, are you gonna be able to get up?" Lorelai asked
Rory thought for a second. It was definitely a valid question. "Probably" Rory said as she sat down.
While they were sitting there, Rory realized that she was definitely in labor. She didn't want Millie to know that she was in pain though.
"Millie, can you go get me my phone?" Rory asked "its next to my bed"
